Russian invasion of Ukraine

Disappointing from Germany if that's the case. At the end of the day, whatever sanctions are imposed are going to result in an economic hit for everyone - not just Germany - but the need to sanction Russia should outweigh that.
Germany needs to sort it’s shit out pronto!
Germany only caring about its own self interest

Indeed but it would seem they are now aligned with Russia to a large extent.
They went into an agreement with Russia to develop the Su-57 PAK aircraft in 2010, it broke down and collapsed in 2018/19.
India subsequently bought Rafale aircraft, and are developing their own homegrown equivalent version of the Lightning II.

from memory over the many decades since independence , India has flip-flopped in whom they buy their military equipment from US/Soviet/US/Russian/French - presumably on how the global wind is currently blowing.

pakistan , again from memory, has similar arms buying flip flopping.

Russian Grand Prix officially cancelled now.
I was pretty appalled when UEFA announced that Russian clubs would have to play their European games outside Russia.

Why are they being permitted to remain in the competition at all?

There are few sanctions that hit home with ordinary russians as much as sporting isolation. They can tolerate all sorts of economic hardships - the USSR was a fucking basket case for decades - but isolate them from the sporting world and they will take notice.

Was really busy at Costco in Chadderton this morning, I'd not thought to link it to the war more that it's only £137.9 a litre.
Last night was chaos, they were queuing right along the front of the store, over the roundabout and back to the turn off for Broadway. I sacked it off and went this morning and it was quiet.

Pretty sure the old Yugoslavia were chucked out of the Euros when it kicked off over there.
Think Denmark got their place and won it didn't they?

Clubs should take a stance and simply refuse to play any Russian teams it’s that simple.

Damnable NATO not instructing Ukraine to give away some of it's territory to an aggressor who had already breached their own agreement to respect Ukraine borders.

Of course NATO refused to agree - they can't dictate borders and especially to countries who aren't members. That's patently absurd.
Damnable NATO for not backing off in regards to giving Ukraine membership.

NATO had 2 options.
Option 1, don’t back off, lose Ukraine to a bloody war.
Option 2, back off, if Russia back off too, happy days, if they don’t, lose Ukraine to a bloody war.

Option 1 is patently absurd.

The only think NATO have done wrong is not doing everything with their power to bring Russia into NATO in the 1990s - but then again there may be reasons for that I’m not aware of.

the only person to blame here in Putin. Who thinks we’re still in the 19th and early 20th century.

Totally agree, all Russian sports teams and individuals should have been thrown out of their sports within 10mins of the first attack, unfortunately greed is the driving force, every individual sportsman/woman should refuse to play a Russian....but we live in the snowflake world of "it's Putin, not their fault" crap, which is why this happened in the first place.

Sure, but it shouldn't be down to the clubs, and if they refuse to play they forfeit 3-0.

It would be a fine stance in principal, but it is only UEFA's lack of spine that would require them to make that sacrifice.
