Russian invasion of Ukraine

For reference. It’s not as good as flight radar but is good in the fact it shows icons next the planes to easy view of who’s who.

I bounce between this and flight radar.

Military aircraft in combat areas use a different transponder mode that is encrypted so they can identify each other but the enemy can’t, and neither can Flight Radar.

Thanks. Thought something like that must be the case, but didn't know anything about the technology or systems.

They haven’t mate. They have said “selected Russian banks” which means many will be able to carry on, presumably those that are most important to trading with Germany will carry on. I understand why we can’t cause WW3 over the invasion of a non NATO country, but to not have a ban on all Russian banks is disgusting. Euros are seemingly more important than Ukrainian lives

There is a joint task force being set up - EU/US/CAN/UK etc - ‘...further restrictive measures: remove Russian banks from SWIFT, paralyse assets of Russia‘s central bank, tackle oligarchs - to be coordinated in a transatlantic Task Force’

It isn’t like taking someone’s credit card away. I’m just pleasantly surprised we‘ve got to this stage. We need to get everyone on board and make sure everyone is hitting the right targets. It’s a lot of nations trying to act quickly, rather than the normal snails pace. It isn’t perfect, but it’s getting there.

What we are witnessing is a radical reshaping of the European geopolitical landscape.

anyone who falls for Johnsons Trumpesque "fake news" bullshit where he denies stuff that Patels own link to his own Govts website shows it is truth has probably spent about 10 years sucking Tory cock and is now conditioned to the taste of Tory cum and has no shame and no rational thought

So they will have to bloody pick strawberries if they want to come here?

Better than not letting them come at all while they sort out the proper Visa situation, I suppose. But bloody hell not a good look for u
Now our own Clive Myrie, I’ve just watched Mastermind which I recorded earlier and then there he is in Kyiv taking shelter underground with Lyse Doucet. Stay safe both of you and all reporters and everyone over there.
Oh crikey now Zinchenko and the Everton player.
Sorry, sorry I’ll stop now but I probably won’t stop crying!
I was born in 1941 so have empathy with those poor children.
Don’t believe you Eccles about being born in 1941 as you would have taped it not recorded, just saying.

IMO The fearmongdring about Russia’s super duper Better than anyone else’s nuclear missiles really is getting to the point of comedy when we’re seeing their 4th gen fighters get shot out of the sky by Ukrainian 3rd gens and armoured convoys being wiped out with 40 year old javelins.

The US and NATO have been outspending Russia 20-to-1 for 30 years and I find it beyond credibility that their nuclear technology has outstripped everyone else’s when the evidence shows they’ve not managed to keep up on cheaper and simpler areas of defence.

The line you keep trying to spin that MAD isn’t going to be mutual because Russias got better nuclear weapons doesn’t convince, if I had to guess it’s the opposite and Russia knows it.
They got rockets from the Rouble Shop.

Just listening to Rachel Shabi on SKY News papers review on about Abramovic and Chelsea - brings up the Saudis and Newcastle and asks how have we allowed this.... its funny how football is the problem - I mean the elephant in her room is the Tory Party and its being entwined with Oligarchs and Russian money - if she is a Guardian writer why not bring that up?

No I don’t agree, we can’t start WW3 but we can boot the cunts out of SWIFT immediately, and we should. This time next week I doubt Ukraine will be an independent country, I fear for its President and its people, we need to act strong, and quick. It’s not removing Russian banks they’ve agreed to, it’s removing SELECTED Russian banks, weak as fuck

One conclusion I can draw from what I have seen is that out gunned out numbered there is no citizen of Kyiv who is going to give in - Russian losses once they get into tight city streets are going to be immense

No ciggies in them now, we got cigs in tins :)

from the vids I have watched if you can get hold of French, Spanish or Portuguese rations you are dining in style mate - balls to the ciggies if you get the right ration - Italian I think - they come with "cordial" for breakfast......thats a 40% proof alcohol drink to start your day alongside an espresso so you should be able to fight anyone until about 11am surely lol

Zelensky saying “I need ammunition not a ride” to the US offering him a flight to safety is better than any line in any action film ever. He has got it right every single step of the way.

also better than I need your motorcycle and your jacket lol - its funny how they elected a comedian who turned out to be a leader and other places like us and the states elected leaders who turned out to be fucking comedians

Keep? That’s the first time I’ve mentioned it, and wasn’t my point anyway, it’s that I think they’ll strike first if it comes to a war with NATO, and I think they’ll go nuclear first, I don’t see what other option they have other than surrender.
Well seeing as you’ve been wrong about everything else on this thread, your post brings me some comfort.

It's usually the reluctant leaders that make the best ones. It's the career politicians who have no real world experience that are dog shit.
