Russian invasion of Ukraine

I’ve just been looking at the the Stop The War website. Apparently it’s Britain who is ‘ obsessed with war’ and the demo next week is indeed an anti NATO rage.
I stand corrected. I've pissed a few off on here by saying NATO have had a hand in bringing about tensions in eastern Europe, but even I think it's a bit of a reach to protest against any govt apart from Russias regarding war at present.
Surely the daft twats need to aim their ire at the Russian embassy?

One potential good thing to come out of all of this is it might reduce the elements of both far right and far left that have been overly influencing our politics the last few years. Putins actions could have even more unifying consequences than he could have imagined.

I similarly think it might give both ends of the US political argument a nice bit of rusky bashing to unite around. There is always a price though - it might keep Boris in a job for years if he can keep up the pound shop Churchill routine.

It could be seismic… I was thinking earlier it could reshape the EU and the UK’s relationship with it - in positive ways. Particularly if the EU continues with its, so far, largely aggressive response.

I’ve been thinking that.

He’s at the root of the rise of the extremes in the West. But he’s now potentially at the root of their collapse and a more united West as moderate and sensible thinking starts to become mainstream again rather than the crackpots at either end of the arguments and all the West hating Westerners who can all get fucked off now.

It seems to have happened here, a united front against extremism within government but from what I’ve seen online, the Democrats and Republicans have used it to argue even more, both blaming each other for it.

Sadly the only thing that benefits is putin

Insane what is happening but absolutely proud of what the Ukraine citizens are trying to do.

Every country person fighting for their country, that’s how society should be.
