Correct Germany wants to trade and guess what they will be trading ? Gas as it is essential to their economy. Selling BMWs isn't.

I thought that would have allowed them to take air superiority almost immediately. But that just doesn't seem to be the case so far.

I’m just hoping that’s exactly what he wants us to think. My only comfort is not only would he have to be stark raving mad but all those around him would have to be as well.It’s hard to imagine a scenario where that number of people have all gone cuckoo and don’t have any family and friends that they care about.

I’m almost 100% certain it’s a huge bluff. He appears to have got himself into a situation with no obvious escape route.

However - and sorry to put a dampener on it - but there is also the possibility that he figures he could use tactical nukes and that the west would not respond. I think actually he would be right in believing that, which in itself is very worrying.

I cannot see the west launching a nuclear strike on Russia under any circumstances, least of all in retaliation for a Russian strike on a non-Nato country. There is no way we would bring about "the end of the world" simply because he had nuked Ukraine. And he almost certainly knows this.

Perhaps a more comforting argment is that the "Re-uniting Ukraine with their natural homeland... BY KILLING THEM ALL" is not an easy sell to the Russian population.

Yeah think theres an element of truth to this.

I also can't see him launching a nuke at Ukraine either because whats the point? They haven't been bombing the shit out of Kiev because they want the capital.

Without a doubt they want stability so they can trade, no one is gaining from Putins crazy war. Hyper energy inflation hurts everyone including China.

A Nuclear attack is just unthinkable.
