Last Film You Saw

Just back from seeing the Duke. Starring Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren it’s the amusing true story of the only art theft from a major gallery in the U.K.
Very entertaining.

Just finishing up watching Blinded by the Light - great film - redolent of its times - great film and great social commentary

Uncharted - i've only played Uncharted 4 so i can't pretend to be a fanboy of the games. There were bits out of that game that they used and i think some of the others are out of the earlier games maybe. Decent enough film, just dumb looking for treasure action really. Tom Holland seems ok, but the biggest issue with him in any movie is he just looks young. A bit like how Ralph Macchio always struggled post Karate Kid films, just because he looked liked a kid. So having him play this character who is supposed to be 30-40 is a bit weird, because Tom struggles to look 21! But he's not awful in it and it doesn't ruin the film. The even weirder choice is Mark Wahlberg, if ever there was a casting done solely for having a big name in there, then it's this one. He's nothing like the character in the game, the age is miles off, the accent isn't there and it's basically just Wahlberg playing himself. WEIRD.

I'd give it a 6/10.

Re-watched Manchester By The Sea with Casey Affleck.
2016
Really enjoyed this the first time, and now the 2nd.
Well played by Casey, a couple of other actors slightly let the side down. In fact I'd say that's where this film is a bit let down.
It's Manchester Massachusetts btw not England. A film really about a broken man.
8/10

Superb film but a bit bleak in places

I could never find anything I wanted to watch on Netflix (which my kids use all the time) so I signed up for BFI (British Film Institute) player yesterday, and watched a brilliant film (British) called 'After Love'. If you like non-mainstream films have a look at the BFI site.

Was looking forward to going to watch The Batman at the flix with my son, alas with a 15 certificate its not going to happen. So why The Batman LEGO an a load of other toys if kids cant even go see it?

I remember as a 13-14yo my mates got in to Batman Returns and i missed it. Had to wait fucking ages to see Michelle in her cat suit. My mates rubbed it in proper and probably rubbed a few out over it to, the dirty wumming bastards.

Same thing happened to me with Cliffhanger. Waited months for it to come out on video. Then christmas I had my very own copy from my gran. Have a real soft spot for the film ever since. Not rubbing one out material though.
