Russian invasion of Ukraine

Isn’t it obsolete? But if they managed to get it as far as Manchester without being shot down it would be a fucking miracle.
Yes, was used once, delivered via a plane, they do not have it any more.

These nuke things do more damage as air burst, rather than detonating at gound level. Usually 100m to 300m, (thats 330 to 3280ft in Church of England) above the ground.

In the good old days of the cold war, I think Manchester was targeted with a 3 mega ton yield weapon. So pretty much all of it was fucked.

Police share some systems with partners via an analogue system for security purposes. You have do dial up in effect.
Oh this definitely wasn’t security reasons. It was a report into the poor state of these facilities that are supposed to be maximum security.

EU to supply weapons. Also apparently banning RT and Sputnik across the Union.

‘We are stepping up our support for Ukraine. For the first time, the EU will finance the purchase and delivery of weapons and equipment to a country under attack. We are also strengthening our sanctions against the Kremlin.‘ @UVL

Will they carry the CE mark? ;-)

Does he definitely mean nukes when he says deterrent forces?
This I think is the big problem thats not being focused on, ok so ukraine resists the russian army advances, and the rest of the world pummels russia with crippling sanctions.... Do we just think that putin is going to wave a white flag and beg for forgiveness? Not likely, hard to see what the actual end game is from both sides

A few questions

1) what is the process for launching a nuclear weapon. Is it really a simple at Putin pressing a big red button and one is fired?

2) if it is that simple, how are they guided and how is the destination determined? Are they launched and controlled to their destination, or is it programmed to coordinates and then the nuke lands on spot X?

3) How long would a nuke take to travel from say Moscow (assuming that’s where they would come from) to the UK?

4) Does the UK have any warning sirens to prepare (not that you can do much) for an incoming missile?

5) Are there counter measure against nuclear attack. Can you for example shoot a nuclear warhead out of the sky before it reaches its destination?
1. Putin will give the authorization, someone else pulls the trigger.

2. Inertial guidance system receives digital code for lat and long of target. Once in flight, inertial navigation takes it to the correct point in space to release bombs.

3. About 15 mins or thereabouts.

4. Yes, constant monitoring of Russian nuclear capability whereabouts and early detection systems exist.

5.. Yes, but unlikely to get them all

There has to be an end game that is acceptable to both countries and I don’t think that will be easy to achieve.
