Russian invasion of Ukraine

Like everything in life nowadays, it is relentless this now isn’t it, At least back in the Cold War, no one knew what was going on other then the spies and the leaders. Now it’s 24 hr news, Panorama specials, Twitter this, twitter that, Facebook this etc etc. You don’t know what to believe there is that much of it on TV and social media.
Yep.

I mean all this shit was going on all the time, same as today, its just we weren't as exposed to it all.
Some cases that's a good thing, we're more informed. Other cases it's bad because there are so many of these unverified "sources" it's hard to tell what's truth and what isn't.

So do what I do, stick Disney+ on and be ignorant to everything!

No, but I was… it appears to have passed on…

My mum is into archeology and ancient history.
Went to Greece - financial meltdown
Went to Egypt - Arab spring
Went to Libya - revolution
Went to Syria…

NB she hasn’t as far as I’m aware been to Eastern Europe
My cousin was in Thailand when the Tsunami hit in 2004, and was then on a tube train (and had to get off it and walk to the station) in London in 2005.
He then just missed the connecting bus (that also blew up) that would have took him through Tavistock (spelling?) Square on his way to work.
I think it was the late poster Scarblu who posted at the time..."just send us a pic so I know who to avoid...". ;-)
