Tolstoy off the shelves, tv series cancelled. Yet when Ms Alsopp pointed out that we were going OTT on the cultural dimension, people piled on. YCNMIU.
If the action is economic such as vodka sourced in Russia, fair enough. If just cultural, a bit silly.I expect to be called a **** left right and centre when the rest of the forum wake up for suggesting we can dislike present Russian behaviour and boycott their products, but does not mean you cannot still play the 1812 overture if you want or for me sugesting wearing my ushanka if it's cold out, even though it looks a bit like russia ones :-)
tbf though alsopp said she still wanted to buy her russian vodka, I am not opposed to it's removal like she is.
NATO will do nothing while they have no answer to Russia’s hypersonic missiles. Putin is probably desperate to test them.Besides maybe 20-40 exceptionally experienced blokes in that 16000 volunteer force there’s no way any nato country engages Russia unless it’s on nato. The next risk is probably Sunday when Russia will go all in on Odessa, given they’ve sank 2 non nato ships in the warmup that’ll be a crunch point.
I still don’t understand how we can give Ukraine all the missiles and weapons they want, can send them aid, sanction Russia and their economy. Can send in thousands of ‘volunteers’ to go and fight Russia and that doesn’t class as aggression ?
Especially in Putins mind - he could justify all the above as NATO aggression.
He's shit scared of what NATO could inflict on RussiaI still don’t understand how we can give Ukraine all the missiles and weapons they want, can send them aid, sanction Russia and their economy. Can send in thousands of ‘volunteers’ to go and fight Russia and that doesn’t class as aggression ?

They will be having a "regime of quietness", apparently.Rissia has declared a ceasefire from 9am to allow people to leave major cities under bombardment.
Whether they stick to it is anyones guess, also kyiv wasn't mentioned so they may carry on there
I think they will...it's a great "We're the good guys" opportunity to flood Russian tv's with.Russia has declared a ceasefire from 9am to allow people to leave major cities under bombardment.

Up to now, Russians have been told that it is Ukranian shelling of the east. Hmmm...I think they will...it's a great "We're the good guys" opportunity to flood Russian tv's with.

That place still going?I've been reading a really good thread on our rival forum mancityfans.net not going to post a link to it but seems to be one guy doing a Healdplace indepth coverage.
Am as usual over here we start being stupid.
Firstly the fella was german and lived in Manchester.
Secondly he decried and criticised the russian empire
Thirdly his wrote in his papers he believed in self determimation for Ukraine, belarus and the baltic regions.
This is as daft as when we renamed German Shepherds and many streets named after Germans and pretended the royal family weren't bavarian in 1914.
Most replies are critcising the mill and Home for either attenton seeking, knee jerk wokeism or being clueless about history, they have updated they won't remove it but want to tell the story of it to better explain it's existance and ties to Ukraine (where the artsist found it)
