No I wasn’t. It was more figurative, historically I was alluding to the Nuremberg trials. Even if the ICC didn’t exist we wouldn’t see that type of military trial here anyway as Russia won’t capitulate as a nation nor would we want it to. Hence why I added it was unlikely anyone will face any justice, at least for the time being - Russia may, in years to come, accept that justice is necessary, and hand over those responsible to the ICC.

It’s possible the world will continue to impose sanctions until that point but I think that unlikely.

I support the football clubs bans and F1 racer getting kicked out because they had unseverable links to the regime and Putin's cronies. Athletes in individual and minority sports is another issue.

What happens to all this Russian money and assets that have been frozen, will eventually be handed back? Just thinking they should sell off all their properties and that money can be used to rebuild Ukrainian homes.

They don't need visas. There is no such visa for asylum seekers.

Refugees have a defence in international law against punishment for immigration offences committed in order to claim asylum.

They don't want to admit that their whole policy on refugees is callous and focused on throwing red meat to arseholes.

They are fleeing a war zone so should not need a visa.

We should have a mobile consulate set up in Calais and on production of a Ukranian passport these families are brought through and afforded the protection they so badly need and what we have promised them.

Yep. We could do it by various methods of transport.

Ferries, Eurostar or planes.

Plenty of spare capacity in all three.

I'm confident, though the confidence is perhaps misplaced, that Putin has already been told on the QT that should he resort to nukes then NATO/the West would respond irrespective of Ukraines non membership of the pact. A nuke is a world threat which would transcend any and all agreements or treaties.....wouldn't it?

Well to be fair all those countries are on the doorstep. The UK is 2000 or so miles away. That's no excuse but hopefully we'll catch up, we usually do pretty well at these sort of things once we clear the red tape and politics.
