Both brilliant but I’d say i watched Phoenix nights DVD way more years ago, office has a lot of cringe stuff and I really struggle to watch those bits

Phoenix nights by a country mile, I watched the Office once actaully Through t it was a real documentary in the first episode very clever but not a re watcher, Ive grown to like Gervais stuff though not his stand up and Derek and After Life are brilliant. Phoenix nights on the other hand is on another level, so many characters but one of my favourite was Spencer.
I always think the northern humour is vastly superior to the rest of the country, PN, Royle Family and the Early Doors are just brilliant.

That is by design though surely, you are meant to laugh at the uncomfortable bits. Realism and Farce are TO and PN

Pheonix nights.

It was a spot pisstake out the working men's club I grew up in. For the record that was Kearsley bowling club, just down the road.

Phoenix Nights all day long ( though as others have said Early Doors is superior to that even)
Phoenix nights takes a few watches before you notice the subtlety of some of it's humour - the use of Jeremy Beadle's hands on the clock behind the bar for one

I always find it amusing when people say comedians like Peter Kay and Mickey Flanagan aren't funny. If either of them announced a UK tour right now, the tickets would sell out within minutes and every person going would be in hysterics for much of the night.

It's much like the music bores who like to tell all and sundry how easy Oasis' songs were to make. Why don't you have a crack yourself then and see how you get on?
