Ha ha haAccording to the Daily United, the Glazer’s/Manchester United have been told a new stadium would cost up to £1.5bill to build.
Apparently the preferred option, see below, is to extend the ‘truth will come out’ Bobby Charlton main stand, increasing the Old Toilet capacity to 80,000+ Cockney’s, Irish, Welsh, Home Counties, etc, fans. ;-)
The 3 options to redevelop Old Toilet are a sticking plaster, a lick of paint, and some spare pieces of MDF nailed on.
A complete rebuild is one of three options on the table for United, as officials consider how best to make their iconic but faded stadium fit for modern purpose.
The second option is a £400million expansion of the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand up and over the railway line that runs behind it, an option that would take the capacity of the historic stadium beyond 80,000.
The final option is to leave the stadium structurally intact but conduct a comprehensive revamp of spectator and corporate areas on all four sides of the ground.
Club officials have been presented costings for the projects, but have yet to sign off on a proposal.
The club is locked in talks with several planners bidding to oversee the work and are keeping their options open.
It is thought that the Sir Bobby Charlton Stand revamp currently appeals most to the club's owners the Glazer family and as such it is the more likely option. It would also be the most acceptable to fans.
It is understood that fans will be consulted before any plans are signed off.
The one issue about the ticket tout stand is the railway line. After years of being told Network Rail wouldn't agree to anything being built over it, articles started appearing saying this was not true. It is a functioning line as per @mat regular photos show so how you would safely build over it, without it costing a fortune I don't know. My own opinion is its all lies. The Glazers won't spend large sums of money on the swamp.According to the Daily United, the Glazer’s/Manchester United have been told a new stadium would cost up to £1.5bill to build.

It does show how deluded many of their fans are. To play in a Pep team you need to be able to bring the highest level of technical skill on a consistent basis, intelligence & awareness to make the right decisions and a commitment to work for the team from the first minute to the last. Pep's not exactly known for his early subs but I reckon 5 mins of that in our side and he'd be off.Is he still better than KDB as they claimed
I believe the Glazers are still trying to sell the club so will do the bare minimum in terms of improvements. They are facing huge debts in every section of their empire: commercial property, Tampa Bay Bucs, and MUFC. United are their main cash cow and the Glazer family lives on the dividends they take out of the club but the cash flow will be hugely hit by CL qualificaton failure. Meanwhile the revival of LFC is hurting them globally (more than City's success) and they are losing a whole generation of fans worldwide. Is revamping the Sir Toutalot stand the most acceptable for the Glazers, as it is the cheapest?According to the Daily United, the Glazer’s/Manchester United have been told a new stadium would cost up to £1.5bill to build.

Spotter! As already said above. The line running next to the place is a very busy freight & passenger line. No chance Network Rail will allow it to be closed to allow a new stand to be built over it.
I'm no engineer but I imagine it'll be very expensive & time consuming to build a new stand over the line without closing it, even temporarily.
They can't even do night closeures without it severely impacting freight traffic over it.
Ha!Spotter!
:)
I can't see the stand extension fouling the line. It may well give the rags a bit of cover on the platform before they fuck off back to Euston.
