City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

I am not sure what they can do on the financial front. That ship has sailed, I think. That's why the usual suspects are changing tack to outlawing state-ownership, and when that fails in our case (as it will because we legally aren't state-owned, or state-backed, a new iteration), to fit and proper tests for the owners. The problem for them is that this will also fail while the UAE is an ally which it will be for many years at least.

What I am trying to say is: relax. We have arrived and we aren't going away.
The history of football is the history of capitalism. If they want a different era of football then they need a different era of capital, and none of the clubs really want that because they're all doing very well out of the current system.

I take it you are not a Burkian.

Never warmed to him. I suppose he was OK on Tomorrow's World, but I always thought he was a bit smarmy.

As for past, present and future: the past wasn't my fault and my kids can/will soon be able to look after themselves. When my time comes, I can look my maker squarely in the eye and say "I didn't really make a difference at all, let me in." If I believed in that stuff, which I don't ....

Ouch!

Nasser Al-Khelaifi going straight for Florentino Perez’s jugular.

"I could have taken the [Super League] cheque for 400 million euros," Al-Khelaifi told the BBC.

"They invited me. Then when I said no, they said they didn't invite me - that sums them up.

"This is the brand we built as a real investment - across men's and women's teams. People criticise because it is sovereign wealth.

"What about other forms of ownership - is the private equity takeover of sport about social good? What about clubs leveraged to the sky by private individuals - is that good? Barcelona are a fan-owned club with 1.5 billion euros of debt - does that work?"

Hearing reports that we are getting a 6 point deduction over Premier League FFP. This will mean we are now 5 points behind Liverpool.

Al-Khelaifi is a wrong 'un and I wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him but he (and PSG) have played it very shrewdly where the ESL is concerned and there's certainly some home truths in those comments.

It's a little bizarre that the fat racist twat Tebas - a long-standing critic of City and PSG - actually finds himself on the same side as Al-Khelaifi regarding the ESL.

Apparently PSG have broken FFP 4 times but UEFA only punished them once (in 2014) and let them get away with 3 other breaches according to French whistleblower.

Looks like that cozy relationship between UEFA & PSG is indeed true.

Bein paid a shed load for tv rights to UEFA. The same guy is the big cheese at both places. Funnily enough, M Leterme manipulated PSG's numbers to their advantage, while at the same time refusing to look at our documents in our defence. Stinks.

Somebody link the sky sports clip of Solekol and that other bald wanker after we denied we had broken any rules and were going to CAS after the guilty finding and how they informed us that UEFA were a fine upstanding football institution and how fucking dare we insinuate they were telling lies. I swear if I'd been in that studio on that day I would have wiped that smirk off Solekols face forever.

The CAS did it for you, mate.
