Clearly it is paramount for countries to have a secure energy supply as the current reliance on countries that are essentially enemies is a disaster.

What should be the long term solution? My opinion is that nuclear generated energy should be the top priority and The Telegraph are reporting tonight that as well as multiple new nuclear power stations being built by 2050 the government is looking at lots of mini nuclear reactors being built by Elon Musk far sooner. In addition, I'd definitely look at fracking as an option and we need to bin Net Zero immediately.

I'd imagine this doesn't square with most eco warriors world view but the current events injects an urgent dose of painful reality into the equation.

Solar panels. On your house. We have them. And get paid for the energy we send back to the grid. The government should spend any money wasted on other solutions and pay for households to have them.

For flats etc etc use the wind capture we have and nuclear.

Should sort everything out what with global warming and all that stuff.

Nuclear and production of Green Hydrogen to replace natural gas requirements.

Most people have formed their opinion of nuclear energy from media sources such as The Simpsons so i'm not surprised people are 'terrified' of it, when in reality more harmful radiation is produced from burning fossil fuels.

Erm....... we need to bin net zero and inject an urgent dose of painful reality.

You literally could not make up a post of such fuckwittery.

Bring back fireplaces and use fuckwits as fuel, even if they burn inefficiently there are plenty of idiots with views like his that we would have enough to survive several Ice Ages.

Obtain energy from reliable sources. Canadian tar sands are pretty reliable and high energy. EU had banned their import due to green concerns, but outside the EU not an issue.

Invest in energy efficiency so appliances and industry can do more with less. Instead of using 10 volts for something, develop the technology to do it on 5 or even 2.

"Tar sands extraction emits up to three times more global warming pollution than does producing the same quantity of conventional crude."

Another for the fire.

How many devices do you have that run off direct current?

Intensive energy use equipment usually runs off Alternating current.
