“Manny”

Town, all day every day... No matter where I am in the world, town is Manchester

I work in Oldham and confuse the fuck out of the office when I refer to town... They say "up town" referring to Oldham...

Daft bastards.
Always town when on the Heath but when you reach the moors at Chadderton then it needs clarifying. Yonner's tend to call Oldham, town, due to have never ventured to the warmer lowlands.

“Manny” came out of the Manchester rap scene about 10 years ago. Think there was even a tune called “Manny Man” at some point?

Anyone outside this scene using the word is a **** of the furthest extremes.

Town and only ever town.

There's nowt to discuss, you nailed it (I hated typing that)
Manchester or simply town.
Anyone that says different us from Duckenfild
Here in the Lord's country (Dukinfield, Cheshire) we practise speaking slowly for a week before we venture into the badlands known as "town" so the locals can understand us.

Is this the first ever thread on BM where we are all united as one? Amazing scenes!

It's not Manc either. We are Mancunians.
Mancunian is in one of my email addresses! People always want to know how to spell it, which is a PITA!

However, it always gives me the opportunity to say, “That’s someone from Manchester, which means I’m a Man City supporter!”

;-)

I call it Manny as do loads of people I know :-)
