City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

The assumption that we were guilty but couldnt be charged due to the time bar.
That's clearly a possible outcome. Masters' red-shirted masters want him to punish us but there's nothing there to justify that. So he allows the limitation clock to run down, meaning no charges but lots of innuendo, which will keep trickling out.

Do they have to publish their findings, PB, like CAS? Or is it all behind closed doors?

I've no idea to be honest. The PL like to keep their dirty washing behind closed doors but the High Court case seemed to rule against that in the particular circumstances related to that case. Doesn't mean that they'd have to release any final findings though.

Time for nothing but positivity for the next few hours.

Thought for today….. there may be one or two residual issues to slightly fret about but all will be time barred in a few months. Then, this summer our glorious owners play the fuck- you card and get really serious with transfer spend.

Hold that thought. Chanel your inner Yuri and will the performance of the season later today.

I wonder if the premier league haven’t been whiter than white themselves and don’t want that public either?

I doubt most are able to make a judgment of their own, they follow the narrative set by the press as long as it's convenient. Basically, they accept what they are told to believe.
Exactly right. Take Harry Maguire. Clearly he’s not a bad player, stepped up and scored in a penalty shootout for England and interested us when he was available. The press one day decide otherwise and the sheep follow.

I am sure this is what is happening. The main reason for the so-called investigation was to smear City irrespective of the outcome. The PL must have known from the start there was no prospect of any evidence..because there was none to find. It has been a fishing expediton since day one for both UEFA and now the PL. But sadly mud sticks.

Guilty of what if there's never been a charge?
There doesn't need to be any charge, thats the whole point. Most football fans don't bother getting into detail. They see a headline and jump on the bandwagon, all they need feeding to them is that we were under investigation for breaking PL FFP rules but we couldn't be charged due to the PL missing a deadline and it is "another" technicality. The Red media will do everything they can to keep bringing this up and it is a cloud that unjustly follows us around all the time.

I think we have drawn our line in the sand. The PL saga is following the same path as the UEFA witchhunt. It has been politically motivated from the start and this farce should have ended with the CAS decision.
Richard Masters (PL CEO) knows his job is on the line. There is no evidence and no chance of success but he has to be seen to be doing something by the people who vetted his appointment (Directors at LFC and MUFC). He needs a way out that doesn't look like a climbdown. That's why the PL lawyers (as well as ours) are spinning the process out as long as possible.
Masters will get off the hook (like Ceferin) by saying the allegations were "timed out" and it's "all City's fault." When the case collapses there will be an onslaught of poisonous private briefings from LFC and MUFC to their pals in the media about City "getting away with it." This is precisely what happened last time with the UEFA case. Most (not all) of the media will not report the story fairly. Some journalists were badly burned last time and will not be so compliant this time so the media storm will be more subdued. They know who they are and I am certain they read this forum.
What do you mean some where burned and won’t be so compliant this time round ?

Most football fans made their minds up in 2008; City are cheats. The fact that we aren't means that they can do nothing and are irrelevant. I never expected the kop or the Stretford end to give us a rousing hand or cheer us to the hole in the roof in appreciation of our rise to having the highest revenue in world football and surely you can't be bothered that rival supporters don't like us?

A lot of the information leaked during the UEFA probe was false and some of reporters ended up looking like idiots. Some of the press pack are a bit more sceptical these days about what they are leaked about City.

Doesn’t look like it to me given the stories keep coming out repeated the same and not sure.

Also I would say everything was reported wrong and deliberately so by journalists last time but not because the info was wrong but because couldn’t comprehend it and had a bias

but perhaps you could give m specifics or who has changed there tune

Can't be arsed looking it up, but my feeling is that the UEFA investigation leaks ran and ran in the press, these PL investigation "leaks" hit the news for less than a day before everyone lost interest. It may be that the press have been warned of NDAs in place, or maybe there weren't enough clicks, rather than any sudden flash of professionalism, though.

It may be that the Spiegel line that they had new smoking gun revelations was taken at face value and reported as such but when people bothered to read it they realised there was nothing new at all and the ancient stories about Mancini having two jobs were risible barrel scraping.

You are inferring that they are sceptical but they will regurgitate anything if it suits their business. Raking over the same coals for the nth time though no longer suits their interests though because it looks like what it is: smear.
