Think if Ferna is going to have an impact in a high profile game this season it could be this one. He's the master of the dark arts and can play Atleti at their own game. These were awful against United and I don't see any jeopardy from them at all.

Ederson
Walker Stones Laporte Ake
Fernandinho
Gundogan KDB
Marez Grealish Foden

Daniel Siebert chosen as the referee. Weak referee, not the best to control a game against time wasting, cheating and faking. No history with us. Was the referee for Atletico 2-3 Liverpool this season that gave Griezmann a red card. They know him well and we don’t.

Marco Fritz, the VAR referee, is the same one from United 0-1 Atletico in the round of 16. Another one they know well

Ederson
Walker, Stones, Ake, Cancelo
Rodri
Bernardo, Gundogan(/Foden)
Mahrez, De Bruyne, Grealish

Siebert was fourth official in our game against Real Madrid at the Etihad, I believe, but you’re right in that he has much more experience with them.

No surprise you're also an expat for German refs ;)

I can only tell you that dippers wouldn't have finished the match with 11 men on the pitch with Siebert on duty yesterday and Raz would have been on the score board with Marco Fritz as VAR.

Also, it's not a ref's job to "control a match" but to care for the rules in place, unbiased. We will be in good hands is what I believe.

It's natural to think about the game on Saturday, but the CL is much more important than the FA Cup, Pep won't take risks with the starting XI.

Gundogan and Mahrez are bound to start, perhaps Grealish, too, but he should be very careful. Clearly, Atletico's players were instructed to wind him up.

Fortunately, we can use 5 subs in both competitions, this will help us to play 3 games over 6 days at a high level. Hopefully, we will decide the tie over 90 minutes.

These will be absolutely shiteing their bikini bottoms.

I’d play Grealish from the off and employ him as chief wum. Get their heads to fall off then pick them apart.

I think we’ll put on a seriously powerful show on Wednesday and show Europe who the fucking daddy is.

Fern is ideal for this one, walker will play and will stay put to stop their counters with felix, gundo fern and Bernie across the middle with kev as false nine, grealish and mharez either side or maybe sterling to add pace.
Be prepared for another shitshow, surrounding the ref, niggling fouls and verbals, horrible bastards

Wouldn't be surprised to see Fernandinho and Ake starting, maybe Zinchenko as well. Gundogan for Kev is also another possibility, Pep might feel he needs some fresh legs in there
Yeah i agree, use the squad and give some players a rest.

They are the team who have to win so we just have to keep it tight defensively.

Ederson

Walker
Stones
Ake
Zinchenko

Bernardo
Fernandinho
Foden

Mahrez
Gundogan
Grealish

2-1 to us ( Mahrez, Grealish)

The round isn’t won. One goal against us and we’re playing away from home and desperately needing a goal against one of the strongest defences in Europe and a side that thrives on counter attacks. Then there’s 30 minutes of extra time and then maybe penalties, depending how it goes, and then we play with tired legs against the dippers at Wembley a few days later.

I’m not saying that I’m sure to be right, but I’m convinced in my own mind that Pep’ll start our strongest possible eleven and then make substitutions if we build on our current slender lead.
IMO there’s no way he’ll risk us blowing the Champs League and / or going into additional time and consequently diminishing our chances in the FA Cup.
