Is Manchester airport the worst in Europe?

I have been through T1 about 5/6 times over the winter months on Saturday and Sunday evenings when travelling back to Belfast and Dublin. Have been caught out once by a bad queue and was forced to plead with security to pull me forward or i would of missed the flight ....but then i caught the same flight 2 weeks later and there was about 4 people the queue. The difference was unbelievable. T1 security can be very Claustrophobic with the low roofs, hot air con and metal barriers. Its a Covid Hotbox IMO.

I have always felt Manchester security systems are very sensitive and catch a lot of things. Although i have witnessed people bringing ridiculous toiletries like full sized bottles of shower Gel.

The ramp up of more flights at peak times, as European restrictions lift and lack of staff was a bad formula.

Im over for liverpool this sunday and flying via Dublin(also having major problems) but im on the last flight out at 10.30pm so hoping the teatime rush will be gone by the time i get there around 8pm.

Manchester usually isn't too bad. I tend to avoid traveling at peak times so maybe I don't see the worst of it. I was once in line for 90 minutes.

I'm going to Dublin on Ryanair in a few weeks. Flight is 10pm so I'm hoping the queues and chaos we are seeing now are afternoon/early evening??

Karen Smart has stepped down amis weeks of chaos. Probably on a nice payoff for being incompetent
started at the beginning of covid, so she has done fuckall for 2 years on a good wage, flights start up again and she crumbles leaving the airport fucked and into the next highly paid job more than likely

Speke is rough as arsehole true, but if you navigate the estate without losing your life the airport experience makes it worth your while. Earplugs are obviously a much needed requirement.
And a wet suit to avoid all the random phlegm that flies around

Landed last night at T2 22.10pm and for safety reasons had to stop and wait before we could aproach the parking bay as no one was available to greet our plane. The Pilot apologised and said he had rung the airport asking if anyone could turn out to assist with some chocs, an airbridge and a trolly cart mentioning that this was becoming a daily occurance.

Eventually a few bods arrived and we were all good to go. The Captain said a pilot should never have to wait for his chocs especially at Easter time so it was even more unforgiving.

We breazed through security and on entering the baggage areas there was large amounts of abandoned luggage at some of the carousels. I would estimate 300-400 and unsure if these get delivered on to the travellers or they have to come back to collect them personally.
