Atletico (A) - Post-Match Thread

Foden was a headless chicken doing nothing after getting a whack.

Defending was atrocious near the end, huge gaps down the flanks

We cant play like that. Stick to the normal pass and go and dont resort to hoofing it

discipline was ok. coulda done without that tackle from Cancelo. we might have a huge issue at right full back against real madrid and Vinicius

Ferna calmed things down and got
some control back.

Injuries will fuck us this weekend
Clueless

Simeone the argentine colin wanker. Shithouse tactics. We didnt play well second half but we showed balls. Biggest minus is how much tonight has taken out of us for Sunday

Can't help thinking that Football could do with some sort of video refereeing system to spot headbutts and hair pulling.........(thinks)!
Nah, I'm not for it, if something like that were introduced where would it end? Before you know it it'd be sticking its nose into really, really tight offsides and disallow goals because a player's nose was offside.

It's a no from me.

The ref had lost control and BT were trying to sell it as him trying to let them play.

It was a fucking disgrace and the sort of thing I would expect to see from a bunch of pissed up, knobheads playing Sunday league.
Reff was an amature and it showed from minute 4,athleti shit bag players knew it and exposed it,pep and his players second half done what most team dont .ie liverpool last year man utd last round ,they played them at there own game and sent them packin the sunday leauge bunch of cunts, they were a disgrace, but expected nothin more than that if bein honest ,fuck em

From the BBC....

FT: Atletico Madrid 0-0 Man City (0-1 agg)
This was Manchester City's 100th Champions League match - although they failed to win or score tonight, they are outright second for most wins (55) and goals (201) in their first 100 games in the competition, behind only Real Madrid for both (won 57, scored 202).
Since the introduction of the last-16 stage in the 2003-04, City are only the fourth side to keep a clean sheet in both legs of the last-16 and quarter-final in a season, along with AC Milan in 2004-05, Arsenal in 2005-06 and Juventus in 2016-17, all of whom reached the final (and all lost).
Pep Guardiola has reached his ninth UEFA Champions League semi-final, the most of any manager in the history of the competition (four with Barcelona, three with Bayern Munich, two with City).

Not too shabby!

Pep said it, if we don't have the ball all there is left to do is defend and we did that easily as well as Atletico ever did over 2 legs. Ederson had two saves to make in that second half and neither extended him too much.

Atletico expended nothing like City did at the weekend(one of the best games you'll see all season bar none), so I'm not surprised they had more legs in the second half. It's less to do with City doing poor and more to do with City not having the energy levels to play their normal game on and off the ball against a team like that. Atletico did show their best football of the knockout rounds in the second half, to their credit but they got away with a heck of lot before, during and after that phase where they were on top too.

That was a well managed game and a professional performance. Proud of the effort put in by the boys in blue. Anyone who isn't should probably go and you know what...
wipe your fucking fannies! Come on City!

He told the players to keep their cool, how would it look if he lost his cool in the interview?
Who said anything about losing his cool. Its like jackanory in here:-) sometimes you have to play the media smartly to try and protect your players.
