Liverpool FA Cup s/f (N) | Post Match Thread

When a team has no confidence in their keeper it spreads through the whole team. Saw this performance coming a mile off! Let’s just hope that today spurs us on for the rest of the seasons! CTID!
 
I knew we'd lose after learning the Dippers rested most of their players on Wednesday, & it was confirmed when I saw the team sheet today. Further confirmation was the way we played in the first half. We gifted them the match.

What the fuck was Steffen doing! :-| We were off the pace, showed little desire & looked like we didn't want to be there. Grealish, Foden, Sterling, Jesus, Bernardo, Zin & Fern were terrible in the first half. Being 0-3 down was bad enough, but not putting in the effort???? WTF!

The second half started well with Jack's goal, but the onus was on us to pull it back. Being 2 down was gonna be hard enough, but I feared Steffen's fuck up was gonna be the deciding factor, & so it proved.

We gave it all we had in the second half & pulled two goals back, but were never gonna recover from 0-3 down. We had 2 clear cut chances to score, Jesus's being the best but we blew it. This is where a clinical world class striker comes in.

Over all Aké was my MoTM with Stones not far behind. I've a feeling Pep has rationalised that if there was a match to lose for the rest of this season, this was it. Now we've only got the Premier League & Champions League to concentrate on & I'm OK with that.

After Wednesday, today was always likely to be a step too far, & so it proved. )(
 
Well, we kept fucking going and thats something to be proud of. Grealish great finish and lovely pass to set up Jesus. Ake excellent. Foden was completely invisible for 90 mins and that's on pep. Didn't make subs early enough and then one of the subs gets us back into it. Overall, a dire day, and that 1st half performance will matter if we play them in the ucl final..just like the Chelsea ones did.

Pretty fucking depressed to be honest.
 
steffen has been an accident waiting to happen for a long time, end of season offload sterling and jesus to pay for haaland and get a replacement for fern, if only we had eddie in goal and a proper striker today
 
Jesus is our best man through the middle. Better then Grealish,Foden,Sterling.

Yes he missed a big chance but he still gives us so much more, I think he will be important in these big games coming up.

If we play these c*nts in the champions league final I would play him as the 9 for sure.

OK, if we really can’t compete in all 3 competitions and one had to be dropped, that’s fine, but now he has to win the League and CL or else he’s just thrown away a major trophy for nothing.

I agree with this. Personally I think Pep decided to go for the CL and PL and ditch the FA Cup. Today was probably a step too far. I suspect that's why he didn't play most of his subs. He realised it was a lost cause. If we end up with the PL and Cl he will be a genius. If we lose the lot he will be slaughtered. I actually thought LFC were poor today but our keeper gifted them the match.
 
Tbf doesn’t get worse than that, 3 0 down to the second best team in the world. Too bring it back to 3:2 is decent. Reckon they can take a bit from that. Come on boys 2 too go!

So there’s an argument that this could give us a psychological advantage as they’ll have a false sense of superiority if we do come up against them in the final, which has caused some problems for them in the past.

How can Pep fuck us again in the CL final but in a way nobody would predict??

No DM fucked us last season, back 3 fucked us the season before.

He's going to start that team, a team that 'would never play in a CL final' isn't he.

He makes subs 60 mins through and I think we take that to ET. We'll never know...but don't we deserve to?
