Nkunku would the perfect replacement for Sterling. Works hard and clinical. Will probably score MORE than 30 goals this season.
But like you say, the biggest problem is finding buyer for Sterling. Who would pay him at least £300k a week?

Not sure about that
Haaland, a CM, a Decent back up LB and a pacey winger if we can find someone daft enough to buy Sterling all needed to refresh the squad.
Stefan was possible one of the top goalies in German on loan and an American international. How rare is it for a goalie to make it at our level at Bazanu age ? Plus being number 2 and not playing will stunt his development and is not what we normally do with our goalieshaven’t watched him much then. He’s been a revelation on loan and is Ireland’s number 1. Cheaper, younger, better.
That’s on Pep for playing him, in the name of squad harmony. I get it, though I also disagree with it.
Strongest possible XI, always, for me. If Ederson’s available, he should play.
But the USA #1 is probably as good as you’ll get for a backup willing to get 6-8 appearances a season.
This isn't a sudden thing,we have allowed squad inadequacies to develop over the past 3 seasons. Our recruitment could have been betterNot a knee jerk after yesterday, I've mentioned it a few times now. Pep is doing wonders with this squad, yes most players are his but we need an oil change.
Eddie and Zak are fine.
Walker is great but we need a back up.
Cancelo is great but we need a proper backup. Alex is soo passionate and a fighter but its not his position.
Stones, dias, laporte & ake are top draw.
Rodri needs a new backup, ferna is a model pro but he's 36.
Sterling lacks consistency, mahrez lacks work ethic and Jesus lacks composure.
I'd say our front 3 needs revamping. A finisher and some composed pace.
Any other manager would struggle with this squad.
Never a truer word said :)It is ridicilous people expect a backup keeper to be as close as Ederson in term of quality, unless you paid him in large amount like PSG does then forget it.
Same as Zinchenko, the same guy that makes a meaningful contribution last season to bring our club to the final champions league for the first time. At his best, he is the best backup for the squad that we ever got. The moment he plays bad just like last match, people want to get rid of him forgetting how good he is when he play at his best last season. Really shows how some our fans have a literall span of memory of goldfish.
Player will have their moment of up and down, they are only human. You can't expect them to be just as consistently good like that Messi and CR37 in their prime years, that's unrealistic and no player will be close to be consistently good as them all the time in their prime. The only thing we can do is hope and pray that they will be consistently good enough in each and every match, not expect them to be like those two people that i've mentioned above.
I wonder if Yan Couto will finally take up a squad place as back up to Walker. Cancelo has nailed down the leftback position so can stay there. Couto is meant to be having a good season at Braga.

No way will be flogged in summerSterling will probably leave on a free tbh
Dembele no thanks to hit and miss with a woefull injury record and attitude to boot.we need domeone like nkunku or anthony with genuine pace and goals. If we’re looking at pace. Would Dembele at Barca fit the mould? Free and worth the punt IMO. I haven’t seen him play recently but with Barca wanting him to commit I assume they see a player there or simply don’t want to lose the substantial investment already made? Gabby and Sterling have been fine servants but I think it’s time for them to go. Shame because they’re both class acts. My summer ideal signings would be Haaland, CDM (young lad from Monaco or Bennacer), Dembele, LB (Thomas from Leicester is a good player) in that order of priority. It will take longer to get all these over the line than one summer but imagine a 2017 summer overhaul? Would be fantastic
Good point. I like both but is Anthony too similar to Mahrez? And Nkunku I’m not entirely convinced he’s in a good moment but I’m just not sure. If we sign him I’d love to be proved wrong of course! I’d just want someone to basically run beyond players. Watching the Scouse game last week they played so high it was crying out for someone to merely play the right pass at the right time for one of our players to run on to. It also gives them something more to think about. Maybe that’s just the Sunday league hoof into channels side of me!Dembele no thanks to hit and miss with a woefull injury record and attitude to boot.we need domeone like nkunku or anthony with genuine pace and goals.
We really do, desperately. Someone who can be as creative in the final 3rd as Cancelo or help us if Cancelo's not on it or not playing. Defensive full backs don't help us in games where teams have parked the bus.We don’t need a LB. Ake is really good in that position.
