I think the main issue is the logistics of getting the weapons over to the Eastern side of the country.

Just a post on the Russians as a population. I used to have a northern European role, which included someone who worked for me in Moscow. Our factory was on the outskirts of Moscow and that means concrete apartment blocks. I stayed in a hotel that just seemed to have me as a guest. I have to say that I have never felt so isolated as I did in that hotel (No BBC world, no CNN), not many people could speak English, advised not to leave the hotel. It is probably the most culturally different place that I've ever been to, that is saying something as I have been to France!;-)

I read an article a couple of weeks ago saying that the Russians import quite a lot of components for their weapons from Ukraine. Or should I say used to. Seems like they really haven’t thought it through.

The arrogant twats you see on holiday are those with money which in Russia means they’re probably as corrupt as fuck. On holiday in January in the Caribbean there were quite a few arrogant ugly Russian men with really fit wives/girlfriends who clearly weren’t with them for their good looks and charm.

I made my excuses and left, rather quickly.

They're far more likely to go for Kharkiv first, as it's right on the border, Odessa will take weeks from where they are, and they'll lose thousands trying it.
