The Watford goal at the weekend was a carbon copy of their 2nd tonight. Laporte just watching the guy running towards our goal and not even bothering to go across. It’s fucking disgusting enough against Watford in a 5-1 win, to then do the exact same thing days later in a CL semi is just completely unacceptable.

Have to agree with you on Laporte. He's too slow to react sometimes.

A number of players let down others

KDB, Foden, Bernardo and Jesus were very very good.

Mahrez and Laporte let us down big time. Ferna big mistake for the goal but also played pretty well tbf to him

Mahrez should have squared the ball when we were 2-0 - simple tap in for foden makes it 3-0 and it potnetially changes the whole next part of the game.....Mahrez hugely culpable also for the first goal
Also the goal....he bottles out of a 50-50 with Modric (I think) before he plays the ball to the fullback to cross.
He also wasted other good positions.

Laporte - Ferna makes the initial mistake for the Vinicius goal BUT what is Laporte doing...HE HAS to towards Vinicius but he doesnt.Then there is the penalty.....Laporte has always had this in him and as good as he is normally in big games at times he crumbles. NO need for his arm to be where it is and he gave the ref an easy decision.

We have now a big test on our hands.....yes we have a lead but that could be gone very quickly...However we can also still cause them huge problems BUT our finishing is going to trip us up at some point....we waste so many good chances....It could have been at least 5 goals in the first half alone......we wont keep getting away with that...not against players the likes of Benzema and not against what is likely to be the scousers in the final (if we get there)

As good as the result is....that was hugely frustrating.

I don't think anyone let us down. Nobody's perfect. Benzema's first deflects off the defender and goes wide 8 times out of 10, second goal pure class, pen would have been described as sloppy if he hadn't scored and it's hard to jump with another player without raising an arm to steady yourself, we should all know that by now.

Chance to kill the game at 2-0 with Mahrez but he goes for glory AGAIN. Then bottled the 50/50 which led to their first.

2 goal lead 3 times and let them off with some stinking defending.

How do we score 4 and not kill them off?? Should have had 6 or 7, too.

Doesn’t feel like a good result at all.

Fucking hell people moaning that we have just beaten Madrid with a team that had no natural full backs playing (Zin isn’t a natural full back) against one of the best attacks in Europe. Yes it would have been nice to be 3 goals clear BUT the players now go into the the away leg knowing they need to finish the job and knowing they can.

Can’t blame the defence, we missed Walker and Cancelo, but how on Earth did we not score 6 or 7, the story of our season. I think we needed a 2 goal cushion at least, Just hope Stones isn’t out for the season.

Think Stones was more tactical, seemed like he was struggling with little training & match fitness
