To be fair to Kane, didn’t he pretty much go on strike until it became clear Levy wasn’t going to adhere to a gentleman’s agreement? From memory, Kane did his bit. His error was trusting Charlie Kane with his career choices, as he is clearly inept.

The fact we're signing a potential megastar needs no further comment, but this is beautiful in so many ways - his father is a link to our past and his career was horribly cut short whilst wearing our colours. Alfie played in a struggling team but is popular with the fans and has been seen in the away end at our games. He brought his son up and as a family they've followed the club for two decades. His son is now going to live out a childhood dream and link the previous generation of both City and his family to the present day. He'll be determined to win the honours his Dad never won and sadly never got the chance to win through injury.
