He was a thug against us.Think the Guimaraes signing for Newcastle is going to look very good in hindsight. I would’ve had him for that price this summer.

Txiki, it’s me again. Here’s a few seconds on Danilo from his last game a couple of days ago (and that’s not even including his goal). We need a DM, he can do the job. He performed well against Chelsea at the Club World Cup in JanuaryTxiki, if you’re listening: Danilo from Palmeiras in Brazil. Palmeiras want Taty Castellanos. Make a deal there. I promise you it’s worth it. (Ask Jesus and Fernandinho about him)
Now this lad could be the new Ferna, at a time of the season where Brighton flatline he has stood out a mile, great engine, good range of passing, aggressive, and doesn’t come with any complications (like Bissouma) he also gets away with more yellows than FabinhoCaicedo at Brighton
Just curious, how much have you seen of both?Enzo and Nunes to replace Ferna/fill out the midfield. That’s be interesting.

Nunes, 6-7 times this season, CL games and top games v Benfica and Porro. Enzo, around the same since we signed Alvarez. Any input?Just curious, how much have you seen of both?
He’s two centimeters shorter than Fernandinho only. Good in the air. Just turned 21 years oldWhat’s he like in the air? Only 1.77m, apparently, so that’s shorter than Gundogan, 1.80m.
I don’t understand how you can say we should sign both. I don’t even mean the unreliable nature of the links, but that they’re not even what we should be looking into. Enzo especially is a laughable idea — I’m not criticizing you here, but the rumor that came “from Argentina”. There is no chance in the world we would ever sign a central midfielder of his kind and experience for the top English side at 21 years old. The newest rumor says Benfica is looking into him (shocker: we were used…) and that makes far more senseNunes, 6-7 times this season, CL games and top games v Benfica and Porro. That’s still quite small and and I just can’t see us signing him this summer as a direct replacement for Fernandinho. He’s two centimeters shorter than Fernandinho only. Good in the air. Just turned 21 years old
Wait, but of course I too prefer Rice. He would be my number 1 pick 100%. I am offering a suggestion of a player who will develop into a worldclass DM very soon. I am telling you, he has what it takes to be better than Casemiro. The characteristics you listed, he ticks those boxes even by not being so tell, but is pretty good in aerial duels still. Now of course ideally having PL experience would be great, but Rodri didn’t. You bring a 21 year old to be his understudy, without having to play constantly, he will naturally settle in. Even in the event of a Rodri injury he can still share with GundoThat’s still quite small and and I just can’t see us signing him this summer as a direct replacement for Fernandinho.
I tend to look for what we don’t have as a team, even with Fernandinho, and that is height, pace, physicality, mobility, and a degree of positional flexibility; experience of having played in the league is also an important criterion. Rice ticks all those boxes for me. Not saying he’s the finished article by any means, but, in my humble, he has more of the attributes we’re missing than most of those mentioned.
Fair enough. I see he’s the same height as Douglas Luiz and just fear that were we to sign him, we would put him on the same trajectory. Doesn’t appear to have much international experience, is he a late developer?Wait, but of course I too prefer Rice. He would be my number 1 pick 100%. This is what I mean. He is far more technical than Luiz let alone at the same age. He played against River Plate in January of 2021 an extraordinary game with Palmeiras in which he started both meanwhile Julian Alvarez, who is a year older, started on the bench, and we signed him. The Brazilian league and the games he has played for Palmeiras internationally are much more significant than Alvarez’s experience. Danilo played the Club World Cup final in January against Chelsea, so even facing a top PL club he already hasFair enough. I said in a previous post that he has just been called for the first time to the senior team. He had previous experience in the under 20s. There was a lot of pressure on Tite to call him given his extraordinary form the past couple of years, and Tite doesn’t usually call many players from Brazilian teams, but he had no way of not doing so this time. If you see the other ones he was called with, you will see the company (Luiz hasn’t been called in awhile…)By international I meant for Brazil.
Sorry, must have missed your earlier post. Well, let’s see if those in power answer your plea.I said in a previous post that he has just been called for the first time to the senior team. Sounds like a very interesting player, even if I have never seen him play. City usually have good knowledge about Brazilian talents so if he has been called up to the national team I assume he is definitely on our radar, and an option if guys like Rice/Tchouameni are unattainable this summer.I said in a previous post that he has just been called for the first time to the senior team. Well in all fairness, Fernandinho is a thug at times, just that his thugery benefits us!He was a thug against us.
The one thing that gives me hope, or at least allows me to fantasize, is the lack of links for him, which suggests a club that doesn’t like much noise (like ourselves) is very interested or even advanced. I say this because Palmeiras behaves as if he is to leave in the European summer window. It’s a different situation from the fake noise surrounding certain “media targets” that seem very unreliable and unlike usSounds like a very interesting player, even if I have never seen him play. Disagreed . Thugs don’t smile while at it.Well in all fairness, Fernandinho is a thug at times, just that his thugery benefits us!
