West Ham United (A) | Post-Match Thread

West Ham beat Liverpool at home.

The point we gained there yesterday is literally the difference between the two teams in the league.

Thats how big a comeback the second half was.

Not quite. The gap is 4 points, but it could be the gap if they beat Southampton.

The 2nd half comeback was a bit result though agreed.

We’ve got a week of rest now. Hopefully time to get Walker and Ake in the frame as starters. A nice rest for those who are fit too.
As far Villa - Slippy doing the dips a favour, Coutinho playing for them ,Villa fans up for it coz of Grealish blah fucking blah.

Villa have a threshold irrespective of the above. If we play anywhere near ours we win this game.

The Villa players who play Burnley won't be up for chasing the ball against us because they'll be knackered from Thursday night. With a week's rest and fully motivated i see no reason why we won't win the game easily.

Let’s not all forget, we had 2 very clear penalties, neither of which were given by the on field referee, the ref was a disgrace, how is he a professional ref he if doesn’t give either of those? Are ref’s now bottling decisions as they know they’ll be checked by VAR?
what about the clear penalty everton should of got? as a city fan even i admit that was a clear pen we got away with that one big time

Errrrr, I believe I mentioned this game stood out like a sore thumb over a month ago!

To think we have made the last game, against a Villa team run by the ex-King of the Kop, a must win to avoid losing the title, is a bad thing.

The 38 game season should never have come down to this, and ex-Dipper Ings will have found the shooting boots he forgot to wear against the Dippers, and Watkins will exploit the same holes as Bowen did yesterday…the diagonal in behind the currently slowest back line in the League, compounded by AWOL full backs!

If this game isn’t 3-0 at HT, the nerves inside the Etihad will be jangling…on and off the field. Gerrard is salivating at the prospect of handing this trophy, and his managerial career, to Liverpool.
He can salivate all he wants he hasn’t got the talent to do it

Ur last resort should be academy players, not makeshift midfielders who aren’t even the best players when it comes to their natural position let alone converting them to defenders. I don’t want to hear bullshit excuses "they are not ready" if not now when? Do they magically become ready when they are 27? Zinchenko providing to the attack lol? He’s slow and weak. Can he do anything Josh Wilson can’t? Ake was fit enough to be on the bench. Even if he could only play 20 mins and start that would be 100x better than ferna.
Listen Einstein now is not the time to try youngsters. This is a crucial time when experience is needed. IMO zinchenko is a quality player, a full international that Pep trusts. Yes he struggles against fast and tricky wingers but so does the likes of TAA. It’s not his position but he gives his all and he never hides and always shows for the ball and very intelligent with the ball. Yes I’m all for trying the youngsters but not now when the pressure is on.

Couldn't disagree more!

To need a win in a home game against a mediocre team to guarantee a title is a position any other club would bite your hand off for.

We're in a great position. Looking forward to an electric atmosphere Sunday.
If I woke up out of a coma today with no knowledge of what happened since last year, I might agree. I didn’t. Nor did you.
