Pretty sure this guy is the same guy running that madvillain twitter account. An absolute weapon if so. Literally hundreds of tweets slandering Txiki, Pep and "the catalans". He seems to hate most of our players as well, and has called me a fucking idiot a handful of times for no reason whatsoever. Lovely fella

I think he'd be a decent signing. It's hard to get too excited about a CDM when our headline transfer this window is Haaland.

Rodri's a beast but we can't hammer him for 90 mins for every match of the season and expect him not to get exhausted or injured or out of form. A bit more rotation and competition would be great for him.

And Phillips seems a solid player. Decent passer, tough tackler, and under Bielsa he gained a good amount of experience of learning and sticking to a manager's detailed plan. Adds to the homegrown player tally in a position where we don't have a load of talent coming through the EDS ready to step up just yet. Knows and gets on with and has experience playing with our English players.

I'm not overly concerned about his recent injury record - reports coming out of Leeds suggest he's basically been run into the ground. It's not recurring injuries, it's a couple of years in which he's picked up three different injuries whilst otherwise playing constantly. The fact he doesn't seem to have had any injuries before that should give reasonable reassurance that he's not got any underlying fitness concerns, and if we do choose to buy him and he passes his medical then we should feel pretty confident it's not an issue.

If we can get him for a price the club deems acceptable then it seems like a good move.

35 million is an absolute bargain for this lad. The boy can play and has bags of potential to be even better

100% agree.

There have been periods this season where a Philips would have been very welcome indeed. He provides a presence and a solidity,a reliability and a reassurance - our more forward thinking players will be very happy knowing this lad has their back.

One thing I noticed, in the video posted yesterday, was that he was an excellent long-range passer which could be very dangerous with a more pacy forward line. Another thing I noticed was that I did not once see him use his left foot.

He stands on that one .. I think if the money is right for the club whatever it is , and Pep and the board think he is the one. That will do for me.

the thing about pep and knasher klopp is they dont just see the qualities a player has now but also how they can improve said player as well?
I remember Gerard Houllier saying that he only ever looked at a player's strengths because that was what they would bring the team. I always admired that view.

I admire that in a player, and I actually hope he does stay at Leeds.

There are too few players willing to show loyalty to the Clubs who’ve developed them, and I can’t fault him if that’s the decision he takes.

The only thing that makes me think that might not be where this is heading is his changing agents to Stellar this summer. Could just be to negotiate a better deal at Leeds, of course, but more often than not when a player makes a move like that, it’s because they’re trying to change clubs. Particularly a group like Stellar.
Possibly or maybe he just feels like it's time for a change of agent?

We've quite a few Stellar clients at the club so could just be something like that.

Fair enough! We’ll see within a few weeks what’s actually the case. Just that City would’ve moved on If the price was over 45m and Leeds would’ve communicated that by now to City
Maybe they have?

If we rejected an offer of atleast £50mil of West Ham which is a fact unless porkies are being told which is unlikely given its his actual genuine agent at the time then its illogical we would accept less of you surely?

Even if Kalvin was desperate to leave the club will always look after themselves first I'd imagine.
