I can't remember, but do we normally have the National Anthem at the Community Shield?

Normally, I keep quiet, but respect the views of those who want to sing it.

This time I'll be joining in.

Leicester is a shit choice for a venue.

I can imagine the FA thinking they’re doing the fans a massive favour having it in the “North” after the hullabaloo of the semi final.

Fact is, it’s a very similar journey time to London as it is to Leicester by train. But a fraction of the number of services. And much more potential for fans of both teams to be trying to cram on the same few trains they’ll be on a Sunday.

I’ve no idea which grounds are available and which aren’t on that date but surely Goodison and Old Trafford would be the logical places to consider first? Plenty of other grounds in the North West with similar capacities to Leicester if not.
Maybe other clubs simply told the FA they weren't interested in staging it.

What is a ticket said many Dippers.
Ha ha...
The ticketless Liverpool fans may find it more difficult to "creatively" get in illegally to the Millennium Stadium ?
The entrances and security staff are used to pissed-up Rugby fans trying to gatecrash the stadium.
Have never been to a football match (e.g. when Wembley was being refurbished) at the "Arms Park", only many rugby games.
Apparently though, according to mates from Trafford, the police divide the City centre up really well, with both teams fans getting their own pubs, cafes, restaurants etc.
It's still a fair trek to Cardiff though, with the M4 and M5 getting gridlocked after the match...

Trains to Leicester take far longer as it involves a change somewhere and not only that but on the weekend of the CL there are rail works planned which will affect the journey there. Should play it at Blackburn whose capacity is only 1,000 less than Leicester or Leeds, either of the Sheffield clubs or even Wolves. There are far better options than Leicester but of course the FA won't take the sensible course.

As one poster as already said, the simple thing to do would be to play the game at the Etihad or Anfield, decided by the toss of a coin. How difficult is that ffs.

It would be interesting if both clubs refuse to play at a ground that is not accessible to their fans. Blackburn is the obvious choice within easy travelling distance for both clubs. Questions need to be asked why Blackburn hasn't been selected.

Because football administrators,in this country, and worldwide are either A corrupt B incompetent, often both.

Blackburn could well be at home that weekend and/or more likely not want a load of Feral scousers anywhere near their town and ground.

If Leicester nobody should go.
Time to make a stand on shit decisions.
It’s an hour and a half away on the coach/minibus. One interchange at Sheffield or Crewe on the train. We’ve had numerous midweek games at Leicester in the Cups and it’s piss easy to get there. I’m really looking forward to it.

Our fans are so weird about kick off times and venues. We live on a little island, nothing on the entire island is that far away, and this is only down the road.

Leicester want to host it, a lot of other clubs don’t.

Next seasons fixtures are not out yet, they could arrange for Blackburn to have an away fixture. The feral scouse bit rings true though.

“Not accessible” ??

Maybe if you travel by horse and cart it might be a bit inconvenient but for most people having a quick blast down the motorway or taking a nice short train ride to get there qualifies Leicester as quite an accessible destination
