So, as a man of a certain age i try and keep myself in shape and limit myself to just the 12 pints on a Friday:)

However i started getting some serious pressure in my head this week and a noticeable vibrating pulse in my leg this week. The onset of chest pains and a mad vertigo attack was enough to send me to the quack. Quick check of the vitals and blood pressure ( usually 120/80 ) and a concerned look came over his face. Blood pressure was 180/100 and my heart rate elevated, asked if i had any stress recently.. such as bereavements etc, to which i replied no...and then it dawned on me ...ITS FUKING CITY, i said accidently out loud, to which he laughed and said i wasnt the first blue he'd seen this week!!!! The Mrs had now put me on my first warning that im not to carry on going if it happens again........ so i promised..........id make the divorce quick :)

Let this be a warning my fellow blue brothers - they will be the death of you

Amen brother.
That said, keep your eye on it, it probably IS just City doing City things to you but take care anyway. You don’t want to shuffle off this mortal coil and miss us pissing the league next year not to mention the CL win.
Keep safe Blue.

Hope you're going to be OK of course. But I swear they really were the death of my dad.

I last spoke to him just after we beat united 1-0 in 2012, which he watched on the TV. He was absolutely on a high that night but it was a heart-stopping game and his stopped for good less than 48 hours later after a cardiac arrest. Obviously those don't usually come out of the blue, and he had some history of heart trouble but I genuinely believe that game caused his death.

And even if it hadn't, the QPR game definitely would have!

I don't know if they will be the death of me but got home from the match on Sunday with a sore throat and tiredness which I naturally put down to an early shift / few beers / singing etc. Little did I know that I was about to be ravaged by the " 48 hour vomitting bug " I can honestly say I have never felt so ill in my life! Still not recovered but I would do it all again anyway.

Sorry to hear that pal - your bang on with QPR tho, although Gillingham, and to some degree Luton at home made me ill, and i was a much younger man then :0

I love my beta blockers.

Not quite the same consequences of course but being mid 50's now, my muscles tend to be remnants of an earlier time and not something that really gets exercise nor put under pressure, however Rodri's winner at Arsenal saw me leap out of my armchair and tear my hamstring before screaming in agony in the middle of my lounge. I could barely move for a week and was still limping a fortnight on.

Blackburn….that first half, fuck me, how’d the ball not go in for them.

They hit the post and bar four or five times in that match. I remember watching the highlights later and after the last time the referee is running away shaking his head in disbelief.

Most of our triumphs of recent years have been hard work barring the 100 point season. Gillingham, Blackburn, QPR and Sunday to name but four.

I've got two faulty heart valves, blood pressure usually 130ish/60ish; heart rate low 50s. Do I worry, no way.
I walk every day for the paper 2.5Km; mow the lawns once a week (45minutes); chop firewood in winter; eat sensibly; do almost everything I did in my earlier years (at 78 you can put your own interpretation on that).
I've known about my heart issue since about 2004 and City's exploits in 2012 and 2022 haven't killed me off yet.
