Medical proof if it were needed......

So, as a man of a certain age i try and keep myself in shape and limit myself to just the 12 pints on a Friday:)

However i started getting some serious pressure in my head this week and a noticeable vibrating pulse in my leg this week. The onset of chest pains and a mad vertigo attack was enough to send me to the quack. Quick check of the vitals and blood pressure ( usually 120/80 ) and a concerned look came over his face. Blood pressure was 180/100 and my heart rate elevated, asked if i had any stress recently.. such as bereavements etc, to which i replied no...and then it dawned on me ...ITS FUKING CITY, i said accidently out loud, to which he laughed and said i wasnt the first blue he'd seen this week!!!! The Mrs had now put me on my first warning that im not to carry on going if it happens again........ so i promised..........id make the divorce quick :)

Let this be a warning my fellow blue brothers - they will be the death of you
The afternoon of the CL final, I needed an intervention because my blood pressure had gone through the roof (systolic 225). Last words from the doc: “avoid any stress”. Yeah right.

Similarly ... I am right now on a 24 hour heart monitor. I had Atrial Fibrilation several years ago. (No cause was found beyond I had a bad chest infection, and literally coughed so hard/much is flipped it out of rhythm ... all following tests including angiogram found no problems otherwise) Had cardioversion ... basically knock you out, and stop and restart your heart with those paddle things, and all fine again.

Well guess what? It's flipped again , and looks like I'm needing to be switched off and on again .... Feckin' City.

Gillingham, QPR and Villa..For me it is more of a mental strain. Was at Wembley for Gillingham.Could not get ticket for QPR. Watched on TV and could not bear it. I guess it was the prospect of the rags getting one over us. Watched it until about 80 mins and was gutted so switched TV off and went to bed . My sister then sent me a text saying well done. I was angry that she would make fun of my suffering so sent her a curt response back. Lay there for an hour and thought, she couldnt be that cruel surely ? Went on the net and it blew me away. I can not watch penalties. Same with Villa and scousers getting the quadruple. I learned my lesson from Gillingham and QPR so carried on watching as City never give in. Wow, what a turn around.
As for Prestwich comments. It does happen. I read about the poor bloke in the USA who put flowers at his wife's memorial after the shooting. Four hours later he was dead from a myocardial infarction. My first day as a club doctor at Gillingham. Half time. Was having a G&T with the directors. Some guy rushes in and says doc we need you on the pitch. I thought he was joking at first and he re-assured me it was real. Just before half time the opposition scored. One of the ball boys was so upset he had an epileptic seizure on the pitch. Fortunately OK in the end. Stress, whatever kind can affect us all !!!!

Resting heart rate was about 10% over my normal from the day before the West Ham game…only started to drop back to normal on Tuesday this week. Below is from Sunday.

This club will end us all early. I’ve warned my Mrs.

I had a bit of a panic attack the morning we played Real away. Combination of other stuff going on but that combined with the end of season pressures we were under at that time sent me on a bit of a funny do in the middle of a shop. Felt sick, dizzy, was racing, I was sweating, the mrs said I looked like I was going to throw up. I'm only 31 as well!

In the week before our last game my ulcer was grumbling every day. My fingernails were also picked down to the bone.
Since Sunday not had a peep from the guts and my nails are growing back beautifully.
The breadknife also noted that i've stopped 'being an arse'

It happens to us all now and then. Just laugh it off. It's when people react in an alarmed way that it becomes an ongoing problem.
All that stress and nervous excitement we get through the football season and then...nothing. It's like a big void for a few months. I don't know how I cope without it all.

Not on the same scale but this week is the best sleep I've had in weeks. Constantly thinking about the games the last few weeks have seen me have about 3 hours a night.

Went to the doctors about 5 years back with, what I described as pins and needles down my left leg, but without the pins & needles sensation. He diagnosed sciatica. I have exercised when it’s come on since and it’s eased it.
This week, since Sunday, no matter what coping mechanisms I have used haven’t worked and the attacks have been so bad that my toes are cramping up too.
It’s all nerve related I suppose and it will calm down.
Typical City for a FOC like me was: ’ah well, there’s always next week - lets get pissed’

Typical City now: Makes me ill!

I regularly get palpitations when watching us play on tv but never experienced this when at the games.
No idea why but being in the ground somehow calms me down….
Anyone else have the same experience?

Amen brother.
That said, keep your eye on it, it probably IS just City doing City things to you but take care anyway. You don’t want to shuffle off this mortal coil and miss us pissing the league next year not to mention the CL win.
Keep safe Blue.
Yeah, I made it to Victoria Station on the day of the CFC game. Felt terrible! Decided the best course was to catch the train back home. Wasn't half way back and felt right at ninepence! My ERO said it was 'stress'!
