UEFA Independent Inquiry

The facts are fucking insane!
70% of tickets used were fake (industrial level fraud)
Liverpool themselves requested paper tickets
Klopp called on fans to go with or without tickets

Pklus add in that only liverpool staff willl have been given the QR codes for the tickets and they will in turn pass them on; combined with the fact liverpool executives, staff and media people had their tickets refused it begs the question how did the leaks happen?
If I didn't know better I'd say Liverpool themselves were doing it

I posted a video on here somewhere of some young French supervisor at the turnstiles letting in a young bloke as he was a blogger she knew and then she let some of his mates in too.

It was a badly run shitshow, poorly staffed and in a country who don't like the English, in an area rife with gangs of vicious youths and a hit/gas first police force. Add the cheeky chappy scousers into the mix and it was a recipe for disaster. Any half wit could have foreseen this, but we are talking about UEFA.

I also think the French authorities and the organisers were a shambles and anti-englishness has reared it's head yet again, with the way the fans are dealt with by both the foreign authorities and the foreign media.
I don't think there is much doubt about that, but both sides of the issue need to be called out for what they are.
If all of that turns out to be true, then surely nobody would want a repeat of that for City, should we get to another final anytime soon. If they can't police or even organise the event properly, then they shouldn't be hosting it in the first place, especially not at the prices people are paying.
Absolutely, so it needs to be thorough and transparent, and blame to be laid at all doors responsible.

It's funny, but I said before real knocked us out, and after they got there, I wouldn't entertain going, because of exactly this, it would have been an even bigger shit show had they been playing us, and it wouldn't have surprised me had there not been some sort of tragedy, if it was against them, in a City like Paris.

I've been to concerts at that stadium, and it was pretty awful outside before and after, shambolic in fact.

Yeah, I agree with that, there will be time to call out the Liverpool fans but I think UEFA and the French authorities need calling out first. A lot of what happened should have been expected, from the local gangs and firms turning up in numbers, to the Liverpool(and Madrid ones I suppose) fans showing up without tickets, hoping to blag their way in or find a ticket tout etc. We should expect better.

Can we just clarify (if not already done) that there is a difference between fans being in Paris to support their team and those fans trying to access the stadium without tickets. Seen a few scousers saying UEFA couldn’t handle the numbers, which is a bit absurd given only a set number of people are supposed to be in the stadium, and clearly many more either got in without a ticket or attempted to do so

Realistically if you are the police … If you have a group of fans either without tickets or without valid tickets at the front of a massive queue of people refusing to move because they aren’t being let in, what is the appropriate course of action?

Reading Tomorrow's Papers Today and they are all taking the same line, that French authorities are so eager to the lay the blame elsewhere that they are, can you believe this, desperate enough to point the finger at jolly wonderful saintly Uncle Klopp, for, of all things, can you believe this, telling Liverpool supporters to all go to Paris without a ticket, which just goes to show the bizarre lengths they will go to and proves that it had nothing to do with orderly harmless Liverpool supporters.

Yep, nothing wrong with going over there to soak up the atmosphere and hang out in the fan zones. But they shouldn’t be anywhere near a queue to get into the stadium.

Completely agree, made the point about fan zones earlier.

Had we been at the final, I'd have probably got a ticket, but if I hadn't, and I'd gone anyway, I'd have sought out a place to be with blues.

As I also said earlier, once I knew they were through, I wouldn't have gone had we got there, ticket or no ticket, I've no interest in spending any time with feral scum that many of them are (not all obviously).

Yep. Tickets + id. Its a pain but it stops all this type of stuff. When you need a passport to get into a ground next season it will be because of this. They should have done it here but fkd up.
Passports and tickets with names on was the big thing from EUFA in the season we played Celtic but fizzled out.

I think Liverpool fans will be absolved of any blame & the organisers & police will take the hit.
Personally, i think it just turned out to be the perfect storm, with the organisation, heavy handed police, local kids & fake tickets all playing a part in this.

Will be a waste of time dippers booking hotels in Istanbul , Eufa will ensure that dipperpool won't be in any final there!!
