Go on then…. Who would you bring in for £30 to £40m who’d get serious game time? Interested to know….
Sangare/Palhinha/Konrad Laimer/Fofana

but we are being called "FM kids" when we suggest there is literally any CDM in the world that represents better value than kalvin phillips..

and of course the usual reply of "If pep wanted any of these we'd have gotten them but he wants phillips" as if it's not a circular argument.. you're trying to justify why getting phillips is preferable

Konrad Laimer I saw was rumoured to be going to Bayern for 8 to 10 million euros which is a ridiculous deal if it’s true

yeah I threw his name as a wishful thinking I know he's gonna go to bayern.

Speaking of bayern another name who could have been on the list - Gravenberch who's going to bayern for 25 million...

I think our business will be done by the start of pre season. Thought Haaland would've been the hardest to get but that's done. Phillips looks to be going that way with Leeds getting replacements and now Brighton are looking at left backs. Cucurella and Phillips I think that's our business done unless 2 of the attackers leave.
Agree with you. If GJ goes he won’t be replaced but if Sterling/Mahrez also go, they will need to be, especially Sterling.

Wow a reply and a powerful insight into what I’m thinking…. You’re the man : )

He is a "pressing" monster - but has a bad passing. I hope that the transfer will not happen for Bayern. If I have a wish I would want to have a ball playing defensive strong no. 6...

I have no idea who he is, but that description would explain why Pep isn’t interested.

Yeah most likely. It's not always about who is the better player, but what qualities they have and how it can help the team. If Laimer is unable to accurately ping balls to the wings for instance, then he wouldn't be useful in how we play. It kind of reminds me when many posters wanted Ndombele instead of Rodri. 2 different types of midfielders.

Yeah more shake than he was doing 18 months ago. Nothjng a good run in the team wouldn't sort but I think the same with Ake, he'd improve with a good run in the team.
Not sure we're talking about the same player. I'm referring to the centre back who played 44 games (33 premier league) last season. Probably had his best season yet.

It’s almost like players who come to play for us won’t learn anything (positional sense) by coming to play with some of the best players in the world being coached by the best manager in the world. Kinell

We paid £8mil for Delph. We shouldn't be spending £60mil on someone to come in and "do a job" for us, in my opinion. I'd rather see the club put the £50mil we're likely to get for Jesus towards the midfield fund and bring in a Rolls Royce player, like a De Jong or someone who will develop into one, a la Bellingham. That would be the more beneficial move long term. Phillips has too many limitations to warrant such an outlay, again that's just my opinion.
Why don’t we just see what happens and support the lad if he signs for us because you never he might just surprise alot of people on here . And also make no mistake he won’t be leaving Leeds to sit on the bench at city either .

Exactly right, only someone that has watched him week in week out(when fit) can really tell you what he's about, people are basing thier opinions on a snapshot of his carreer, who has seen him play 20 games? Anyone?
If so I would like to hear their opinion, all we know is he's played in the Prem and for England, looks decent enough technically and knows his role, but none of us know how he will develop under Pep and that for me is the huge factor in this transfer
Look what Pep has done with Rhodri, he's been world class for us this season the best in the world some say in his position and who would have called that after his 1st 6 months with us, I recon you could count them on 2 fingers and one of those fingers is Pep

I trust our manager fully to get these things right that one of the reasons he's the best and paid the big bucks

Also being over looked is the Bielsa connection, Pep will know what he's getting in Phillips and he knows anyone that can work well with Bielsa will without doubt work well under him

And the money 60mn is a lot, but why would Leeds let him go unless the deal suits them, after all do they need the money? Probably not

Everyone thinking they know what’s best for the side over Pep….

“Cause we’ve got…Bluemoon Moaners”

Just doesn’t have the same ring to it

This is really stretching the definition of "Prem proven". He's had two injury hit seasons in the Premier League, the second of which his club were pretty shit. The vast majority of his career has been spent in the Championship.

I'd be more inclined to call him international football proven but that doesn't really have a great ring to it.
