The only reason Frenkie was on the market was because they needed finances. Now if this new economic deal works out they don't need it anymore, and Frenkie seemingly doesn't want United because of no CL, and wants to stay. But sure yeah, the viable option is City and a swap for Bernardo (as if that helps them), makes sense. Just make shit up as you go daily. This is so easy. What a canut indeed. Tomorrow it'll be Bernardo has asked for a move, then Frenkie is seduced by Man City project and so on, then nothing will happen.

Barca are going to desperately try and change Bernardos mind now aren't they it's how they opporate as a club.

what makes city dumb here? If bernardo wants to leave and 100 mil is the price, sad but we can't really complain. I think 60 is a good price for sterling with 1 year left.

When clubs are in the state Barca are any money coming in will be accounted for - if the sell De Jong any profit they make will go on paying the long line of creditors - player deferrals being near the front of the queue.
 
Tell them the only way they're getting Bernardo is cash + De Jong. As horrible as it would be to lose Bernie that would be the only palatable deal.

If the deals to sell half the retail arm and cede TV rights brings in €700m, as has been suggested it could, that will swing the club's salary cap from €144m (£123m) in the minus (as it currently stands) to something closer to €550m (£470m) in the positive.

That would still be above their current wage bill set at 560m (£480m) euros. So they would remain stuck with the 4:1 rule. (to spend a euro, they have to generate four.)

If Barça fail to raise their new salary cap to above that of their current wage bill then the attempt to get big earners out of the club becomes even more desperate.

Barcelona say up to 25 per cent of the television rights could be sold as part of this deal
They will still be tied to the 1:4 rule meaning they would need to shave €120m (£102m) off the wage bill to be able to spend €30m, or €40m in the case of the player being moved on being one of the top 5 per cent of earners allowing them to apply a 3:1 instead of a 4:1 ratio.
 
If Bernardo does want to leave and go to Barca, he better tell us before FDJ goes elsewhere.

It's also funny as fuck that a player the rags are desperate for has leaked a few times that he'd prefer a move to us!

£50m for gabby (Arsenal) & £60m for Raz (Chelsea) is what was being reported (maybe with add ons) so that's a sweet 110m

These clubs clearly have the money - so why not take the full amount just coz we have the money !

I don’t think that is bad personally. It would be best to keep all our players but if they want to go and you get max money then fair enough
 
If we look at our outgoings under Pep, every year we only sell 1 at most 2 first team players, with 1-2 leaving on a free. Pretty consistently. Working backwards, Free 2 Sold 1, F2 S2, F2 S2, F2 S1 etc. Only the window aftet pep's first season, when we sold Kolarov, Kelechi, Nolito, erc that we actually sold as many as 4 players, with 2 leaving for free, but them that was a bit of a rebuild.

Really doubt we would see a drastic shift to that pattern. Dinho has already left on a free. 1 or 2 might get sold if they want to move but hard to believe it will be any more than that.

Next year might get interesting if the players with a year left don't renew. But even then, if one is sold this year, one extends, the other 2 leaving for free still follows a pattern.
