It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Sorry but anyone that thinks Dortmund are gonna sell Bellingham this summer are pissing in the wind. Reckon you'd be talking £85m plus aswell with his age. No way city doing that deal this summer.

I can’t see Dortmund letting Bellingham go this Summer. Especially after losing Haaland. Especially to us. No matter the fee.

If we get Cucurella he will bring balance. We usually start build up play down the left because of Laporte, but also either Cancelo or Zinchenko who are better on the ball to combine with the left winger and 8. Then you have Walker who is the far sided defender when the ball is lost.

I think with Cucurella it's not only his ability to go forward, but his defending is actually quite good and has good recovery pace. So now if Walker is rested and we play Cucurella and Cancelo, build up play could start on the right while still having balance. Equally if Cucurella starts with Walker he should be good enough to help build up play. This is one of the things that is lacking with Zinchenko and Cancelo both starting IMO.

If we sell Sterling, Gabby, Zinny and Bernardo and sign Cucerella & Philips
We have

LB Cancelo/ Cucerella

RB Cancelo/ Walker plus Wilson Es, Kaboure or Courto

2 x CB Dios, Stones, Laporte & Ake

DM Rodri Philips

2 x AM Kev Gundo ? ?

LW Phil Jack. ?

S Haarland Alvarez

RW Mahrez Palmer

Yes Phil could fill in AM but you can see that is the only area we are short we need 2 more AM or another winger

FDJ and Bellingham, especially with Gundo and Riyad’s last year and 5 subs

I have spoken to a few dortmund fans, evne tho they like their youth players they feel like the lack of experience of their youth players is hindering their clubs chances of winning trophies. So its not as green as people make it out to be. Not selling Håland last year was a stupid choice when they could have made 150m or around the 3x the money we paid for him. Shocking imo

So for argument sake say Jesus does sign for Arsenal and Sterling ends up signing for Chelsea for around £100mill combined. We’ve already sold Torres, Banuzu & Porro, if De Jong we’re to sign for say Utd and that meant Barca went for Bernardo for £80 mill.

We would have generated £250mill in sales, spent £70mill on Haaland & Alvarez somewhere around £40mill each on Cucurella and Phillips and then have £100mill for Bellingham…..as much as we wouldn’t want to lose Bernardo, Sterling and Jesus, 2 of them have a year left, the squad would look more balanced for me. Would most people be unhappy with that come September?
So basically this @tolmie's hairdoo?

Can i please dispel the myth that Bellingham will be a replacement for Bernardo. He might cost the same due to his potential but he isn't currently in the same class. If Bernardo by some miracle does leave we will seriously miss his workrate and class finishing. The Villa away goal and the Madrid at home goals are still fresh in my memory.

From what I read it as

Alvarez and Haaland. Phillips in, Curcurella in.

If we lose Sterling and Jesus we bring Felix in
If we lose Bernardo we could bring in Bellingham

So theoretically could be a window of

IN - Alvarez from Jan window, Haaland, Phillips, Curcurella, Bellingham and Felix.

Out - Jesus, Sterling, Bernardo with the possibility of Zinchenko out also

That would be a mental window, can't see it being anything as busy as that
