Southampton close to appointing our Academy Recruitment and Talent Management Head Joe Shields to Senior First-Team Role.

We’re exploring internal replacement for Shields with Sam Fagbemi National Youth Scouting Manager (Previously Southern Scout Lead Been at the Club since 2017)
a possible contender.

Chatted to him loads, even watched academy games with him. Top bloke. Wonderfully passionate and knowledgeable fella with an incredible eye for a talent. Would be a great loss for our academy this.

What’s your thoughts on Sam Fagbemi (think he’s only in his mid twenties) being his possible successor.

I went to school with Sam, its pretty incredible to be honest. We went to a rough school and as soon as I finished my GCSE's I got out quickly and went to college and then university. I would have never imagined he would go onto where has. Used to play for the school team and generally have a kick about like we all did but he has done very well for himself. Shame I never stayed in contact, I wonder if he could sort me out with a ticket or two hah!
 
Seems like our scouts and player development/recruitment teams are as in demand as our players. There was Fallows and another who were poached by the cult, Mark Lawell has left the CFG to join Celtic while Fergal Harkin is apparently wanted by Standard Liege as director of football

Given their reliance on exploiting the Southampton first team, this is one of those occasions where the Echo might justifiably claim “how city losing youth scout can directly benefit Liverpool!!”
 
Maybe it is one way of stopping our youth department being so dominate probably backed by Southampton’s palls FSG we all know how dirty they can play they are cheating Kunts

Not great to have so much turnover but I guess it's better than having staff nobody else wants.

Suppose it’s proof of how well we are run if everyone else wants our backroom staff as well as our players. All going on to more senior roles. Seems working at City/CFG is like an Oxbridge/Ivy League degree, best in class and CV gold.
I’m sure like the football side, we have clear succession planning in place
 
Yeah everyone on our staff is getting offered the position above at other clubs, not much we can do about that really.
