You can’t have a shiny new toy for every position. Like children on here who think any new singing is better than what we already have just because they get to watch a new singing interview on the website etc. Grow up.

Zin is more than capable of doing a great job at LB.

As it stands Pep, Txiki and the club agree with me.
Lot of growing up to do for some of you obsessed with shiny new toys for every position. No loyalty to our current squad either. Hang your heads in shame.
They are going for Cucurella regardless of Zinnys future (which seems to be at City) so no the club doesn’t agree with you.

16mil then 1 decent season at Brighton albeit 0 goals 0 assists from leftback/wingback. Then he's suddenly 60mil.
Arsenal just bid 6mil for Grimaldo.

True. But.

He was a talent in Spain. Brighton got there first. In his FIRST SEASON in the PL he was Brighton's player of the season. He stood out a mile as Brighton's best player. I noticed him straightaway, like many City fans did. He's a lovely, lovely, passer of the ball (just what Pep loves), he can tackle, he's fast, and in general he doen't make mistakes. And most importantly he's only 23, which means his best years are yet to come. He could be our full back for at least another 10 years if he signs for City? He's worth £50mill in the current transfer market.

Agreed. If he is a success then it will be money well spent. I remember thinking the fee for Walker was crazy but, in retrospect, it was an excellent deal given what he has achieved since being here.
I think we would all like to unearth a gem for a bargain price but, given how tight some recent seasons have been, it is difficult to take a punt on potential.

Stats like these are stupid when you have no context.

Cucurella played 3x the number of minutes of Zinny in the league.

I already posted in one of Zinnys threads, performance or transfer one, that showed how dominant of a left back he has been when you look at per 90.

He is the best left back in the prem.
So, if we offered Zinny for Cucurella Brighton would snap our hands off?

I don’t blame Brighton for trying to rinse us on the price, player under contract to 2026. They are entitled to ask for what they want.

Ive no doubt city will pay what they believe is fair value…..if not then we’ll walk away and buy someone else.

If they felt that Cucu strongly wanted to go anyway, if we were prepared to offer a considerable amount of money, and if Zin wanted to go to Brighton , to get pretty much guaranteed first team football, and in his natural position, (and to enjoy the beach), everybody could do a whole lot worse than that deal. It would be intelligent all round. And by the way, no, I don't want to lose Zin. I just feel that the recruitment of Cucurella would conclude an almost perfect transfer window.

In the home game last season, he had Mahrez in his pocket, even allowing himself several ventures forward.

Very impressed with him.
