It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

A disgraceful player with a quality manager and system can bring him in track. City, liverpool, athletico MAdrid are clubs/teams run by manager. Neymar sure is a bloater but he can be put on track by pep. I am sure neymar will run for pep. I heard his quote this pre season. He practiced very hard in holidays. He says everything will go in this season. May be its a PR stunt but i would like to believe him. He has lost 3/4 peak years at PSG. He must make up those lost times. I would have done the same.

If anything, the recent claims say the opposite, that he has no intention of moving from PSG and wants to stay focused there till the world cup.

Note 93.20 didn't say Neymar at any point. Bluemoon did.
We are signing ronaldo for U21/23s

I just think this Neymar link is unsubstantiated bs. Two clubs in the prem would be interested, rags and Newcastle. Rags because they'd pay whatever, and Newcastle for a galactico signing, one they haven't made yet. He doesn't fit City's profile in any way shape or form, and if Pep was judging him in our last encounters with PSG then he'd be near the bottom of the pile for potential new players

He fits Sorianos global star profile. Jack Grealish didn't fit what we normally go for but we did. Neymar no matter what people say is a global superstar, especially with children and young teens. Also you get one of the biggest stars of South America. Increasing citys profile over there massively.

Its 100% a deal Soriano would do. Plus Peps gone on record saying hes a fan of Neymars ability and skills. If Soriano came to Pep and said I can get you Neymar no way he'd say no.

When’s the Etihad deal up? Sign Neymar and we have a blank cheque waiting - that’s why Soriano would be interested

Whilst that may be the general policy, there are obviously exceptions. We tried to get Messi last summer, after all, and Neymar is a fair bit younger. Not saying that I think it will necessarily happen, but Guardiola clearly rates him highly and Soriano has long wanted a global star to boost our profile overseas. I guess you could argue Haaland fits that profile, but Neymar would be on another level in terms of the attention it would generate, particularly in South America.
From a commercial and merchandising angle I can see why the club would want to buy Neymar with increased shirt sales and revenue. However, I have concerns about his attitude and I don't think Neymar is a team player and could possibly cause disruption to the team.

Can we have a summary of what exactly 93:20 said ?

I saw a post saying something to the effect that he'd been reliably informed that we were going to blow the bloody doors off (or summut), but has there been any specific reference to a particular player, position, club or nationality?

This isn't true.

Right or wrong, they usually mention specific names.

As I say, haven't kept track so I'll take your word for it.

The ones I've noticed, were always left to interpretation. Haaland was claimed nailed on, but with a shifting timeline over like 3 transfer windows. London calling 3 players? No names, quite open ended. And yesterday's big name claim.

Might just the be the ones I've noticed. Not attempting to rubbish anything btw, just saying it is not unusual that it is vague and BM fills in the gaps. Doesn't quite speak in clues really, but doesnt always just give explicit mames either.

Either way, the guy is excited that's for sure.

Puma would want this deal to happen as well, as it looks like they've lost Haaland to Adidas.

The face of Puma Neymar, wearing a puma kit for the Premier league champions. Alot of marketing opportunities

Nah - I’m not buying this!

A 30 year old Neymar just doesn’t make any sense given how careful the Club has been over the last decade in scouting the right characters for the squad.

This would be such a huge departure for us, and such an apparently random lurch towards the Galactico acquisition approach - which has just never been our thing - that I simply can’t believe it’s true.
