It's a fair point, this is after all a job to these guys, if someone else offered me more money to do the same job I wouldn't think twice and taking it. Yet when it comes to footballers everyone slags them off for doing the exact same thing we would do ourselves.

I think the thing that speaks volumes is that it’s a 1 year deal. He could be instrumental to keeping them up and then get a big move out of it. I think it’s a good move for everyone involved.

How does making the best business decision make him a weasel?

Can he not join West Ham next year if no one is willing to pay him 200k?

Or perhaps he'd be so good with Forrest that someone will offer him a long-term Contract at 200k with a signing bonus to boot.

Its not a bright move though. He is plating for relegation fodder. If he has one bad season then nobody is going to go near him with the wages he demands. Could have signed a 4 year and gaurenteed some stable income regardless of his form
