Injury Updates

Is Laporte definitely injured? I’m sure I read somewhere he was joining Foden, Gundogan and Stones with the U23s due to fitness worries or something - that doesn’t necessarily mean an injury? Pep gave an update on Foden, Gundogan and Stones in his latest presser but didn’t even mention Laporte, just wondering where on earth he is?? He returned to training the same day as the other lads didn’t he.
He had surgery after the season. Which is why he didn’t play for Spain.

Haven’t seen him in any of the training photos today. Imagine he’s a couple weeks away from playing at a minimum if he hasn’t started training with the team yet.

Pol Ballus said that, from what he has seen, Laporte is about 4 weeks away from being fully fit and might miss the first 3 games of the season.

Laporte is a warrior for playing through it but it's a bit bizarre that Ake was on the bench seemingly ready to play and Pep still didn't choose him. Even if he wasn't 100%, he clearly was in better shape than Laporte who needed surgery?

Hopefully not too serious but this is the second surgery on that right knee of his.

I remember a funny conversation on here months back after the Wolves game to be exact. A poster tried to say "It was Laporte own fault that he got injured he tackled wrong". Classic :)
I wouldn't agree with that but I would say that our now infamous left back was at fault for the injury he got for us going in to a stupid pointless tackle so it does happen.
