Any MCFC supporters clubs in Scotland?

I think you are just at the wind up now

Ain't that the truth .. heading to Preston for Hearts game and looks like another magical mystery tour today
Me? Wind up? With my reputation?

Seriously, I thought direct services were from Glasgow. I looked at the TPE for our first game and got a return price of £220. They can stuff that.

I travel to Edinburgh from Preston quite a lot I normally get it for about £30-40 return Preston to Manchester is really cheap I booked my ticket for the Bournemouth game is was £8 return

Yeah I drive to every game with the three kids from Edinburgh. We gave up on the trains a few years ago as it just wasn’t worth the hassle.

We did fly down for a lot of games in the past but no operator has got the Edinburgh - Manchester route to work for long.

It doesn’t help that the tv companies get later and later with the kick off times. Getting back after a 4pm game Sundays on the train is a right pain too.

We can leave the house at 9 and be home for 10 on an increasingly rare 3pm kick off in the car.

We normally stay over at a Premier Inn. That’s getting silly expensive though. I don’t fancy there and back same day when the weather gets bad though. How do you find it?

To be honest I’ve been doing it for every home game since 1995 (with a four year gap just after the takeover when we lived abroad - ironically then the journey from Helsinki was usually cheaper and sometimes quicker than Edinburgh) so it’s just what I do.

There were times in the late 90s when doing that on my own was a bit bleak - but having the kids with me now makes things a lot more entertaining. Or at least them arguing keeps me awake.

I don’t mind the drive, save for the occasional caravan on the A702. We’re actually doing there and back on Friday for the cricket.

That’s remarkable. We have had season tickets the last seven years and try and do as many as we can. I would love for there to be a decent hotel with parking within the Etihad campus. Maybe the Arena will attract one. We are just south of Edinburgh so sounds like we do the same route as you. Tebay is a welcome break both ways.

I'm a member of the Edinburgh supporters club. The club is very active and the members are very familiar with one another.
The guy who runs the admin is a very nice bloke.
I also got a similar query before I got signed up a couple of years ago.
We don't do bus rides presently although, the chairman is trying to organise one this season. However, some members do request for rides (with contribution towards petrol) while others prefer the TPE.
Well I have just had my request to join the Edinburgh group denied as they are "tight with numbers" despite there being just 94 in the group.

I don't know if there is anything in the comment about protecting ticket access (I have my own season card) but I think the decision is very disappointing. They suggested that I join the Billy McNeil Club (OSC?) as I am supposedly closer to them despite the Official MCFC site identifying them as my nearest.

I thought we were all part of the same Blue clan - clearly I was wrong. :(

Perhaps we are not so different to other clubs' fan groups after all. :(

It doesn't now.Cancelled all the time.
There is only one train that is scheduled to get back after a 15:00 match on a Saturday and it has become so unreliable that we will not be using it this season.

Travelling East Coast via Leeds is a lot more expensive but less so with split ticketing (book to Leeds or York and then to Manchester). This season we will be travelling East Coast for most weekend matches. This will involve more overnight stops but I am not willing to put up with the absolute dire service from TPE West Coast any longer.

The way it has become I'm seriously thinking this could be my last season.
Lucky that most of the games in the first half of the season I'm rest days so I can get cheap digs in Blackpool and do it that way.
Got to the stage I don't even think of doing it in a day due to the crap service of the once great TPE.
I got the travelodge at Ancoats for a decent price for the Forrest game,so it looks like for the midweek games prices are still OK.
I was on all cup schemes not so sure this season.
Knowing me though I could be talking bollocks and still go to most games next season as well

I drive down from West of Glasgow and always stop at Tebay on way back and sometimes on way down. You always see other blues there.
