If it was their first match, it could easily be explained away, but they’re supposed to be practically match-fit by this stage, considering the number of games they’ve played.

Not in this one though because it didn't happen. No one seems to have sent reporter's or cameras to a match against Saltzburg as it clearly didnt take place.

I can only find the Mail covering it. The Telegraph, Guardian, Express and worst of all, the bbc have no report at all.
