Any MCFC supporters clubs in Scotland?

They replied to me asking why I’d like to join and what I want to get out of joining their club before they review it. I thought anyone could just join these supporters clubs to meet up for a few pints to watch games etc or is that too easy?
You might kick with the wrong foot.
Happens a lot up here.lol.

Same and then they say no. :(

Don‘t think the Club should allow it. Have written to City to say so.

I might start my own Central Scotland OSC. All welcome.
I said I was wondering if there was any travel , or meet ups for TV games, then got the green light…

Where are you based mate? Would be good to meet up with a few city fans to watch TV games when I can’t make it down without an interview process to join! Ha

I managed to book hotels for the Bournemouth and Palace matches.

It was a bit of a nightmare with the complications. I booked the Travel Lodge at Audenshaw for the Bournemouth match. I don't trust the trains at the moment so it will mean a drive from Edinburgh.

It was harder for the Palace match. I eventually booked the upmarket Novotel. Amazingly it was cheaper than the Ibis, the Mercure, or the Ibis Styles. It is normally far more expensive. It was not cheap but after cashing in 6,000 Accor reward points I only paid £94. I hope that the trains are operating by then.

TPE not involved in the strikes but worrying anyway

Yes but TPE are notorious for last minute cancellations due to ‘unavailability’ of crew from long before any strikes were taking place.

For years every 3:00 Saturday match we would catch the TPE leaving around 6:15 getting back in time for Match of the Day.

Last season this was a nightmare. Quite often the train did not arrive or it arrived and dumped every one off at Preston. From there we had to get a Glasgow train and hope that we could walk to Queen Street quick enough to catch the last train to Edinburgh. Once we failed and had then to walk to Buchanan Street to get a night bus costing a fortune and a taxi from Haymarket. We arrived home after 3:00am.

At one stage TPE would arrange a bus or taxis when they cancelled at the last minute. But last year they just directed people to Avanti Trains even if there wasn't one.

I always find it a bit weird on Bluemoan that people queue up to sneer at people who give their time for free but bow down to City Administrators / Directors who get paid tremendous salaries. Good luck to those offering to set up their own Branches.

OSCs operating in the name of the club we all support who then operate a ‘less than inclusive’ approach in order to protect their personal privileges deserve all the sneering they get.

In my view no OSC should be able to reject a membership application without very good reason e.g. scum fans on the wind up.

But hey ho just my opinion and if you think that this is OK then so be it.

Had similar with my local branch, it was just set up for the few founders could get away tickets for big games and did little else.

I could set one up with just my family and still have more aggregate point than that shower whose meeting were during away matches.

I’ve had the same message from the OSCs showing for Aberdeen and Edinburgh both last pre season and this. I’m bang in the middle in Dundee as well so either would have been handy.

Or we’ve both been ‘vetted’ ;-)
I’m from Dundee aswell & me & my boy go down about 6or 7 times a season, always meet others from Scotland on train

That’s good going, I usually just take the car as trains are a bit more inflexible and seem very expensive unless you book well in advance?

I don’t know how this Branch is run but It sounds like you haven’t been invited to join because you couldn’t give a half decent reply to a couple of basic questions. Other Bluemooners have been accepted.

Did you say you've contacted the club to try to get independent volunteers to do your bidding?

I commented before because I recall that a few years ago, anyone from a Supporters Club Branch seemed to get grief on here. That subsided for reasons including people realised that the benefits weren’t what they were exaggerated to be on here.

Good luck with setting up your own Branch. It’s a lot of work but it’s a good feeling travelling to home games on a coach load of Blues etc. Just a word of advice, if you let anyone in then you will get people who have been brainwashed by the likes of Corky thinking they’ve got a right to any away ticket they desire. For example, our Branch has 2 tickets for West Ham Away and that works out at about 1 per 80 members (based on last year’s membership numbers).

Btw there’s other things Branches do like we’ve fund raised for City in the Community and helped people in Ukraine.

Go ahead and set one up.

It can be a pain for trains especially when game gets changed, 7.09 from Dundee gets us into Piccadilly for 12.20ish , & 18.15 home , obviously have to stay over if it’s a Saturday early or late kick off & Sunday is a nightmare

Seen Ramsays are doing a deal with travel, accommodation and admittance. Coaches going from Dundee, Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy and Edinburgh.

I’m in Dundee too and was thinking about doing this to take my young lad.
