Probably the final fee with add-ons for appearances, wins etc? I could be wrong but seem to remember something about an additional payment if City win the CL.
Yes, i understand the add ons which are all subject to certain targets being met. It has been almost universally reported that the fee was £51m including SKY today when the said it was a “snip”. My question is why does the BBC away it was £85m ?

The good news is after just 1 game (and yes I know it's only 3 points), we are +5 points net on where liverpool were at this stage last season, we are 3 points better off by winning, and they are 2 points worse off by drawing, so a very good start, we are also 2 points up on the equivalant match (WHU away), and 3 points up on first game.

I didn't think we that we played that well, yes we controlled the game for the large part, and our passing was good, but we didn't really create very much in all honesty.
I think the most encouraging aspect was the improvement in performance since the Community Shield.

We won the game and controlled 99% of it without being anywhere near as fluent as we can be.

Let’s hope we remember to set up others to score as well as our Nordic Meat Shield.

Because it’s City, we are the only club that get all of the clauses included as well as their wages, annual food bill, cost for their training kit, money it costs to take them to games on the bus etc etc.

Meanwhile every other premiership club pays a flat fee or pay for their signings with magic beans.

I’ve learnt to laugh at it now.

I don't understand why making some sort of comment amounts to getting on ex-players backs. All people are doing is quoting the scenario as they see it. What it comes down to is we're expecting Haaland to score more than Sterling and Jesus (possibly even more than both of them combined?)

Nobody is criticising those players who have left, we all know they played their part, but facts are facts. For all we know Haaland could be a flop turn out to be a flop but it doesn't seem likely does it? Given the choice right now, who would you rather have?
How does it not seem likely now? Yes he scored 2 1 was a penalty and 1 was a decent finish not a worldy, the goal was made pretty much by the pass, all he did was open his body and slot it, and as for a penalty as a striker you should be sticking them away, don't get me wrong not slagging haaland, but don't see why people are making comparisons with ex player, and if.you do would haaland have done what sterling did to get the cross in for gundo for the first goal against villa? Would haaland have made the run zinch did to set up the equaliser?

I never think of it that way. If we're 10 points clear after 10 games then it's different, but anything can happen yet, something significant probably will.

I'm a little nervous at both Sterling and Jesus going. What happens if Haaland gets injured? His record is a bit iffy. And he's not going to be able to play every single match. Same applies to Alvarez. I still think we need more cover upfront.

Grealish is given a job by Pep not the same job as Sterling why would it be we have a striker now. As long as Grealish does the job Pep wants him to, Grealish will get picked. Thats as much as anyone can ask and all we need.
The second half Grealish was very good. The first half he was ultra safe, kept it very simple but never looked like a goal or assist threat. If he was playing to orders in both halves then fair enough, he carried out those orders very well but he's got the ability to be a real danger to the opposition - as he showed in the second half. Let's hope we see a lot more of the Jack we saw after half time.

We drew there late season so surely we are plus 2?

This has been done to death for the past few hours. Nobody is making comparisons, it all started off when some of us were saying that Haaland is likely to score more 1 on 1s than Sterling.

Since then it's been taken out of context and people are complaining that we're slagging off Sterling or anybody else. Nobody is doing that, we're simply saying it feels good to have an out and out striker who is more likely to score in those situations. How it's come to this I have no idea. It's just a conversation.

I am delighted that we won, I've already said that.

I'm not getting on their backs, I've said that I was sorry to see them go, but let's be absolutely clear - Haaland is a significant upgrade on both of them.

I really liked Sterling as a player - fast, tricky and his movement was brilliant but as a finisher he was poor. He wouldn't have scored that 2nd goal today. Haaland will score these chances and I honestly think that he will win us the CL this season. We've not had a striker since Aguero left and today we've seen one who's absolute class.
Exactly this. People have completely misunderstood. we're simply saying we have a player who is more likely to score more goals now. It's a prediction, not a criticism of former players.

Yep it is is a conversation, and what your not getting is why bring players into it that dont play for us anymore? it's irrelevant and pointless, last season was last season and we were champions, and sterling, Jesus and zinchenco all played a massive part in it

Great win, tough away game west ham ,and its out of way with 3 points, haaland going to be a machine,we havent even got goin yet, going to be frightenin in a few games when were in our stride

Well, same answer really, they're probably quoting the final fee after add-ons. Why they would want to do that, I don't know.

FFS how many times do I have to explain this? WE KNOW THAT!

We're just saying that we now have a striker that's likely to score more than either of those did. We're not knocking them at all.

Why does anybody have as problem with us discussing former players? Should we never mention Bell, Lee and Summerbee again, or Toure, Kompany and Aguero? Jeeze.

If a centre half misses a header would you say oh Kompany would have won that header? No you wouldn't it's like your trying to justify the players in and out
