It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Didn´t know that city owns parts of this company. Thought it was only the Guardiola connection. Yeah but I think Mendez/Gestifute has more influence at city than vis-à-vis. Ownership of these agencies could change the dynamics between club/player agent.
I never said they owned it, I said we were in with them. We don’t need to tie up finances in an agency as it gets us no more info than a decent scouting system and forged friendships with established agencies already in the market.

City have proposed a new deal to Bernie and vastly improved wages :)

Last Saturday may well have been a crucial moment, even in his own mind.

Oh thats good news! Hopefully he sees that we are the best option for him career wise. Hasnt he just bought a new house as well? I know he could afford to have it anyway but still its a good sign?

great news if true on Bernardo....but he has to accept and I thought he wanted to move for personal reasons/living arrangements not an increased wage packet?

There is no player in the squad I would love to see sign an extension more than Bernardo but I just can't see it. He has clearly wanted out for over two years and I would suggest it's a decision motivated by lifestyle not money. Even if he doesn't get his move to Barcelona this summer, he'll be hoping they come back in for him next summer.

I get the feeling that he'd be happy to go anywhere that provides him with the lifestyle he wants before signing a new contact with us, whether that be Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, Paris or even a move back to Portugal. I just can't see him and his missus sticking it out for another three or four years in Manchester when he's already wanted to leave for so long. I hope I'm wrong though.

I wonder if this was all a game from mendes all along to get him a better contract…
Could be that way. £150k/week till 2025 is "cheap" for a player like Bernardo. I would offer him "Haaland-level" wages & signing fee around £15m.

According to Wolves fans their owner holds a percentage of Mendes' company (Gestifute). It seems to be legal so city should do the same & buy some sport/football agencies. It would increase our influence in the transfer market.
That's why I thought Wolves was the club being investigated by the PL for playing around with agents' / scouting fees. I am sure we are smart enough to stay away from that stuff.
