It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Chelsea confident they can wrap Sterling up quickly and player is up for it. City expect to know one way or the other by Wednesday.

Foden contract also being announced around same time as Rodri.
Thanks for the update as always, Tolmie. Seems like what you mentioned about Gabby and Raz earlier might be about to happen. Getting £100m for the two must mean we still have some big bucks to spend yet, although maybe not this summer?

If Raz is leaving, I'll be sad. I think it's a step down for him and a loss for us. But if he feels he just needs a fresh start, you have to respect that.

You also have to respect the fact that he's seemingly making a quick decision to the benefit of all parties. He could easily run his contract down and get a much bigger payday - doesn't owe the club anything.

Glad he'd be leaving on a high with that cameo against Villa, too. I'd hope that if and when he returns for the first time as an opposition player, we'd be the polar opposite of the scousers and give him the respect he deserves.

Just thinking out loud here, but I've been wondering - with Foden's contract having reportedly been agreed for months, would the pay increase be backdated somehow? It seems odd to have sat on it for so long when he would stand to earn a lot of extra cash from it?

Or has an agreement only just been reached?

It's been agreed for ages and City will obviously look after him in terms of the wait, usually through his renewal bonus.

He has had a firm in Liverpool handling his affairs since his agent died.

From what I heard, this other firm is also in the process of being sold.

This a thousand times.

I believe Grealish is the direct replacement and Phil will get more games on the right.

Bernie staying would almost certainly change some of the thinking, but still being told we have a big iron in the fire.

Makes us a bit one dimensional on the wings, Grealish, Mahrez, Palmer are the same type of player. None of them have Sterlings pace in behind that terrifies full backs

Raheem is his own man and he might just blink when it comes down to it, but I would be surprised now.

Chelsea also showing genuine interest in Ake at £50m.
