We'll know after this game how we are looking for the season. We coasted the first two but West Ham have shown they're well out of form so that win looks less impressive given that context. Newcastle gave us a tough game and in Eze, Zaha etc Palace have players who can take it to us in just the same manner. They'll look to play just as they did at Anfield and we'll need to manage that better. It was one hell of a workout against Newcastle so hopefully that has brought a bit more sharpness and the rest of the players will get some fitness in against Barcelona on Wednesday.

It's a long season and we often start sluggishly but 3pts here and it will have been an excellent start considering the relative fixtures last season. Palace had our number last season.

Our defence is far from fine. Any team who have a bit of pace up top and are prepared to press us cause lots of trouble.
Why the fuck our defenders don't engage the attacker early instead of backing off is a mystery. All stones needed to do yesterday was put in a tackle just inside our half. Win the ball or foul him, no difference either way.

I think 26 goals conceded last year suggests otherwise. Pep got it wrong with Walker against a very good winger. He caused us all sorts of trouble yesterday. Way to much space and one or two casual passes didn't help either

TBF to your comment, this season will be a huge test for us.The emergence of the press and counterattacks is getting to be the norm as each season goes by. We''ll also see how good a showstopper Eddie is this season. Still, I have faith in the back 4 to play us out of trouble and lead us up field to where the firepower is.
