I'm not a conspiracy theorist but there's something suspicious with Napoli's deals like under the table payments or something off the books.

The Jorginho, Koulibaly and Ruiz deals values don't make any sense.

I don't think there's anything suspicious. The Napoli president just didn't like us.

He's blown millions on crap and let players leave for a pittance. He struck gold with the team a few years back with Lavezzi, Cavani and so on but they haven't really hit those heights since.

agreed mate but it seems we are done in the summer market. Would love a senior left back and a pacy wide player but a left back would be more important.

Without doubt we are done this summer but our bench on Saturday showed our weakness when we have a few injuries.

With the pre world cup schedule it's going to be tough for many of our players.

Not if you listen to Txiki on the together documentary. He isn't a fan of January signings, unless it's something like Alvarez.

i agree it does now mate but no hints/rumours of anything happening even from Pol, Jack Gaughan, Martin Blackburn etc of anything happening this window means we go with what we have. Seems silly to wait until January but i guess its Pep who dictates if he is happy or not?

I'm sure Khaldoon said in his end of season interview,that Pep will identify a player for a position.
If we can't get the player identified,Pep says he will make do with what he has????....summat along them lines anyway.

Thing is, if we’ve picked up a couple of injuries by January with the World Cup and hectic winter schedule, CL games, etc then unless we’re already about ten points clear in the league I can’t see how it would make sense not to sign a couple of players to strengthen the squad at that stage.

To be honest, looking at how weak our bench was at the weekend it would make sense to sign some now, but there aren’t many available that would improve us. It does seems we’re relying on not getting injuries early in the season though.

Time will tell. It seems a shame that when we finally address one issue by getting a proper striker, we limit ourselves elsewhere by having a tiny pool of players compared to our rivals.

i guess the thinking is though that from the bench or squad from saturday that we have Laporte, Ake, Phillips and Grealish still to come back?

i understand that to a degree but surely there is an A then B option at least?

A part of me can't help feeling that it might be related to Pep's extension a little bit. At times.

Zaha is a great player, has been the best player outside top 6 for a while. What most people do is just hate a player because he's showboated or dived or something, when it's all part of football.

I must admit that when it was announced that Zaha was 'out injured" against us it did make me wonder whether it was a bit of a smokescreen and we were actively looking at him. Pep does seem to.like him and we are a bit short in the wide forward/wing positions.
