Gigs Thread

While still gutted that Cheap Trick cancelled their (twice postponed) gigs ...had tix for Manchester, Wolverhampton and Newcastle) we still have a good few to look forward to.

First is my thirtyeleventh (at least) time seeing Ian McNabb at Sale next month.
Then The Lemonheads at The Ritz.
Also Richard Marx at the Bridgewater (ok more for the missus that one, lol)
Uriah Heep at Bridgewater too ... haven't seen them since Firefly Tour in 1977, so will be interesting.
John Otway solo gig at Rose & Monkey pub on Swan St.
Enuff Z'nuff .... won't be the same without Donnie Vie though.
Ryan Hamilton and Warner E. Hodges (from Jason & The Scorchers) at Waterloo Bar in Blackpool (heard lots of great things about the venue)
Cats In Space at Bury Met.
Ian McNabb again, this time with Icicle Works at Holmfirth Picturedome.
And last but not least for the year, is Andy Scott's current version of Sweet also in Holmfirth ... yes, onlyScott from the originals, but always a great night of nostalgia and fun.
I’d love to see the Lemonheads again, saw them once in Belfast about 1994, superb gig.

Went up to Settle on Wednesday to see The Twang at the Victoria Hall.

Great little venue, it’s the oldest music hall still operating. Only about 150 people in attendance, I love small venues like this.

Also saw San Pedro Collective in Hyde a few weeks back at the old post office building.

From Hyde to Settle, chalk and cheese!
Had to Google them see if they are related to excellent mid-80s band, Twang. But they’re not.
Next up for me is Melt-Banana and Napalm Death both within a week of each other in mid October.

Glaston- Bury on all day today.

I will be starting off by watching a Bhangra dub band play on the platform of the East Lancs heritage railway at half one today..

When's that Lemonheads gig?

La Traviata in Verona on Thursday then later in the year Loudon Wainwright III followed by the Proclaimers.

I went to see Evan Dando, on his solo tour in Preston a few years ago, he was good, he gave the impression that he really couldn't be arsed and didn't want to be there.

Don’t think there’s a gigs thread on here already, so what gigs are you getting tickets for or have you just seen?

I picked up a ticket at the last minute for The National at Mayfield Depot last night on Twitter. They were outstanding as usual.

I’ve got The Black Crowes in Dublin in 3 weeks….and Dead Kennedys is Belfast next May…I’m sure there will be more in between

Disappointed the Foo’s were cancelled because of Taylor we all went to see Liam at the Etihad it was brilliant
Then Ed Shreran (not me) the daughters loved him They also went to see “Wet, wet, wet“ and enjoyed the whole show
We were thinking of Rod Stewart at Christmas

Just bought myself tickets to see Ride in Berlin and Düsseldorf in Nov. Playing their debut album Nowhere. Love the music and they are great live.

Doing Kasabian in Munich in October too. Not sure how good they will be without their original singer but they were always bloody good live.

Also if you pardon the change in pace, going to see Andre Rieu with the missus In Jan,

I saw Ride play Nowhere at The Ritz in April. Been a fan since the early days but that was the first time I’ve seen them live. Was blown away by how good they were, unreal musicians.
