Another one in the bag for Nadal. What a player, 14 French Opens, it’s just unbelievable.

Eurosport coverage has been excellent - paid £6.99 for a month of Discovery Plus on Amazon and it’s been great watching. Mats Wilander comes across really well - knowledgeable and amusing in equal measure - they should get him on the BBC team for Wimbledon.

Any one on here know how to get centre court tickets at Wimbledon, at a reasonable price .Always been a bucket list thing. Not a member of the royal family. or likely to be on a corporate bankers jolly. They seem to be very costly and hard to come by

I’ve got some for the first Wednesday this year fortunately (£95 each)
Its a shame you didn’t say last year as due to the pandemic you could get them the night before on the Wimbledon app
You basically have to enter the public ballot (Before Dec) or get them through the volunteers ballot at your tennis club
They are non transferable so you won’t be able to buy any
You can get debenture or members tickets also but those would be expensive (Unless you know someone)
Courts 1 and 2 are also very good and worth going too

Just enter the public ballot each year
They always draw pairs of tickets get whoever you were going to go with to apply from a different address
You have 2 chances then
You may not get centre but good chance of another court
Alternatively I went to the Paris Masters 1/4 finals in Nov saw the majority of the big players (Nadal Medvedev Djokovic) and it was only 80 euro

First year I entered the ballot I got centre court tickets luckily

I’ve also done the que a few times - worth it, always a good day

Thanks bluehammer will be entering the ballot thing for next year. Don't fancy the 600 mile round trip . and the que on the oft chance i might get in .

New be waking up to her getting beat! Her next 2 years are important now she will either move back up the rankings slowly pick up a few tournament wins or go backwards stagnate and retire at 27!

Raducanu out of US Open at first hurdle, tumbling down the rankings.

A modelling career awaits.

Down to 80 in the world having barely won a game this year and she earns nearly £19M doing it lol.

Society is so unfair at times.

No doubt she can play the game, but I doubt her mentality to compete at the very highest level.

Of course she can play.

Well enough to earn £19M in the last 12 months on and off the court?

No!

Yeah it wasn't a great first round draw for her, Cornet higher ranked and in good form so it was probably the result you'd expect tbf. Will be interesting to see if she can build a more conventional career and ranking going forward. She'll now have to do all the things she hasn't had to for the last 12 months like qualify for the big tournaments etc which was probably what she originally thought she would doing be at this stage of her career if it hadn't been for last year's anomaly How she responds to that having already had that taste of success will probably determine how it goes. Now the spotlight will be off her at least a bit she may be able to return to a more 'normal' progression. Not sure she will stick around another 8 years if the next couple of years don't show decent progress.

It’s strange how much glee and delight some people have in seeing Radacunu lose

It’s because people like yourself put her on a pedestal of greatness, demanding she be bestowed with honours and awards her fledging career have simply not justified.

By all means carry on celebrating what is fast becoming mediocrity but it’s not for me I’m afraid.

Obviously she's still incredibly young but you just feel there's a good chance that last years win was one of those freak things that occasionally happen and she'll never be able to repeat.

Hopefully I'm proven to be talking rubbish, again...

where have i done that ?

people like myself right celebrated her US Open win which was an epic moment in British Tennis history - even if she never wins anything again, so be it. might aswell cheer her on rather than be bitter and belittling towards a 19 year old girl

Belittling towards a 19 year old girl?

Listen to yourself ffs haha.

Her career will either stand up to the scrutiny professional sport brings or it won’t.

Last time I looked there wasn’t some 19 year old girl category which protects her but nice try.

If her mentality is she likes being the underdog no pressure she will not make it and stay at the top! Like I said we will see in the next 2 years where she is heading..
