Aston Villa (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Probably get slaughtered for this, but when pep arrived he said Sergio needed to adapt and work harder, best goal scorer in the clubs history, yet haaland comes in and is there just to score, haalands work rate is piss poor, yes get a ball to him he will score, but in the meantime we are playing with a.man light, haalands work rate is appalling
Ok, time for me to take some time off the forum before I say something I mean.

I am always a bit down when we drop points. But actually what pisses me off even more, is when we play like shite. And worse, do fuck all to actually change it. Like a car crash in slow motion. It does my fucking head in.

Play our hearts out, make decent changes and just get beaten? I can take that. But todays rubbish is just so fucking infuriating.

No, no, your chronic hatred of Mahrez, Gundo, etc. and your reference to national origins in a football forum is the really ugly part. People like you are what the fucking problem is.
Why are you bringing Gundo into it? Gundo has been excellent all season but was woeful today. Therefore many people (not just me) are saying he was poor and should have been brought off. Most (you will never get 100% agreement on here) will accept that to be the case. However, you will not have a bad word said against Mahrez and it has absolutely nothing to do with his performance in any given week. You blindly back him because of nationality and that means your opinion means Jack-all.

Disappointing performance, not often we go ahead and end up dropping points.
Talking of "dropping"...Foden was poor again. See if Grealish was churning out these types of performances week in week out, imagine the abuse he'd be getting, well actually, I don't have to imagine because he was getting that stick last season.
Stones just needed to head that ball back to Ederson but instead headed it back into play, then failed to clear it a 2nd time. Not sure what was wrong with their 2nd either, we got a bit lucky with that one.
Gundogan's worst performance for quite some time too.
Thing is, if brain of Britain Walker squares that in the 1st 5 minutes then we are one up, away to a side bereft of confidence, with a very nervy home crowd...instead he tries the glory shot.
Some staggeringly poor decisions today that cost us 2 points.
Aside from the great cross, KDB was a bit erratic with his passing too.
Ah well, we take the point and move on. we've struggled a bit recently at Villa Park with some nervy 1 goal wins, couldn't manage it agaib today unfortunately.

We're not meant to win them all but this was there for the taking , i think Alvarez should have been brought on in the second half for a 25 min cameo atleast and foden needs to be given a break, he seems off pace and is playing really within himself, for a talented player like foden to struggle against Ashley young says all about his form, a break will definitely help him regain his focus.

These players will forget far more than I’ve ever known about the game but ffs can’t we pass the ball a little infront of the receiving player to try build up momentum. So many times the player has to check back or stop to get the ball.

Whats his workrate? I mean stats. I saw him running and chasing and back for corners when he wasnt try to position himself for an attack. Have youi got stats or is it your intuition?

The Villa goal was pinged in, and Ederson had no way of knowing where it was heading. Very harsh to blame the keeper for that one.
I defended him all last season but he really isn't a top class shot stopper us he? Brilliant as a sweeper but shot stopping? Nah. A top class stopper would have saved that.
It's a trade off I know, but his stopping abilities have declined over the last season and a half.

That’s letting off Cancelo, and half the team defending the corner.

Scapegoating would be another word for it.
I answered the question. Not scapegoating at all. His error was the initial one that lead to the goal.

In fact I don't think I've ever posted any negative about Eddy before.

Why Ederson couldn't stop that goal? A good goalkeeper would have stopped it.
I don't think Ederson was at fault for the goal, three defenders had poor headers leading up to it, he hit it well, unmarked but hit it well.

Fuckin great point at a desperate Villa in need of points.

Our best start for a while when traditionally we are slow starters.

Unbeaten in 6, 2 away Draws against decent Clubs and half decent sides.

To put into perspective, if Dipps, Rags or Arse are going to Villa or Geordies we'd be hoping and half expecting a Home win.

Yeah, I'm pissed off we didn't win so trying to put a positive spin on it :-)

Still want the fuckin Arse to Muller those Cunts tmrw, that's how worried I am about them being top!
