Sevilla (A) | Post Match Thread

Long long overdue. Every game recently we dominate them, waste chances and then commit suicide
These fuckers are long overdue an absolute pasting
They have dug in on games recently and got results where they maybe shouldn’t have hopefully we put that to bed on Saturday I have a feeling our fans are going to be up for this game big time, not that we shouldn’t be up for games but you know what I mean…

Gomez, is he the proper leftback we've been waiting for all these years?
Well I have been waiting 60 years or so for a left back since Cliff Sear retired. City patched up using a midfielders (Glyn Pardoe and Dave Conner) for a while. Eventually Willie Donachie signed but he only lasted 12 seasons and 431 appearances!

It was back to make do with a defensive midfielder - Fabian Delph - or attacking midfielders - Oleks Zinchencho - or even right backs such as Cancelo.

Don't know what all the fuss is about - two tap ins - stealing a living.

Akanji on the right of the centre backs was strange. Assume Pep didn't want two new players together on left side. But very assured, looks good.

Foden is far more effective coming in the from the right. Perhaps as Grealish gets fitter that is what we will see more often. Although really I want to see him in the centre far more often.

Good performance, great result.

Akanji , Gomez, Grealish and Phillips all looked promising tonight. Seville very poor though, so an easy stroll before the spurs game.

Those of us of a certain age still bear a severe grudge since 1981

I know the melody has been "this year is finally our year" for a few years now when talking Champions League, but looking at this fantastic team, we have no weaknesses left after this summers transfer window. Unless Haaland, KDB and Dias all break their legs in the quarter- or semifinal, I just can't see us not going all the way.

We have the best striker in the world, a solid defence with five quality central defenders, a great "Rodri backup" and clinical forwards – all of them. We have no excuses now. Get that fucking trophy.

If we won't win it this year, we may as well not bothering entering it again.
